Yeap, this fight was Rocky/Clubber Lang 1, they can really sell this rematch if Gina gets takes MMA a little more serious

Anyone who thinks that the event wasn't garbage is lying. The last UFC event was definitely on par with this one, except that the UFC got a HUGE push for one of their biggest stars when Silva picked apart Griffin. Yes, Gegard was impressive, but not nearly to the level that Silva was.

As for Gina, if she faces Cyborg again, she will get destroyed again. I don't see any reason to do a rematch unless StrikeForce wanted to bury Gina.

For the casual fan, I don't think they were overly impressed with the event, just like UFC 101. The women's championship may have been full of action, but it wasn't even good action. It was Gina falling over randomly and cowering while getting destroyed by Cyborg. Babalu losing was not really that much of a thrilling win, it was a KO, but hardly an "Oh my god" type of KO. The rest of the fights were C-'s at best.

I think SF could have benefited from showing a good undercard match when the matches were going by so fast. It would have been a chance to showcase lower level talent and really bring in more fans if it was a solid fight.

kind of a weird post, you say the last UFC was on par with this event, for 1, the UFC was a PPV for $45 and Strikeforce was on Showtime

you say that the Mousasi KO was impressive but wasnt a 'Oh my god' KO but Babalu got his eyes rolled in the back of his head, that was a burtal KO where Mousasi stopped because Babalu was out cold

Gina and Cyborg had action, but not good action? Gina went for a rolling knee bar, she didnt fall all over herself for one, the only thing you can say was it was sloppy, but it was still good action, better than most lay and pray fights were both guys dont try and finish

Than you say the rest of the card was C- at best, so Gil/Ishida was a C-? It was as good as if not better than Penn/Florian which I enjoyed, the difference is Ishida did better than Kenny who just tried to hold BJ on the fence, also this was a rematch of a good first first where Ishida won

Wedum and Kyle stunk because it was a mis-match

I don't see how this card was 'garbage' with these 4 fights

well, its up to gina, I'm sure she worked hard in the camp, she was in shape, but hasnt focused on MMA all year long, you cant do it part time

she needs to see she makes more money if she wins, she is a pretty girl, but not much if she doesnt compete in MMA

You either have the drive, or you don't...the engine just doesn't start overnight to be great. She has always seemed as if her interest was to get elsewhere.

She's a pretty girl, and that's part of the problem with her MMA career...she'll always be pulled in the direction to be something more then an MMA fighter and as long as the modeling and Hollywood gigs float around her, she won't focus on MMA and she'll get her arse whooped by the women who are all about MMA 100% of the time...like Cyborg.

Randy in the movies makes me doubt him more then I would otherwise. He was off making Scorpion King 43 and comes back and gets the ass kicking of a lifetime by a guy with, at the time, 4 pro fights under his belt.

I am aware of why Randy was sitting out...however during his time off, he was making movies instead of training just as hard as he would have been...you can come up with excuses for the man, but the proof is in the result...he got mauled by a guy he should have beaten.

Gina may have been a workaholic to the fight game when she was unknown...now that she has become a known face...its been pretty much her missing weight for fights and now losing in impressive fashion. Like I said, the proof is what we are seeing.

Two fighters that haven't stayed focused because of the promise of Hollywood fame and fortune and both lose and have failed to live up to lofty expectations. Fighters that haven't been putting their best foot forward in training and they don't have 100% focus on their MMA career and they are losing.

I'm very hesitant to take Randy against Big Nog considering he's still off making movies. Normally, I'd take Natural 10 out of 10 times...this time...I'm not so sure. I'll probably be a puss and pick him...but I'm unsure.

Just because one guy got KO'd doesn't mean it was a stellar KO. There are thousands of KOs every year, but only a few are memorable in any way. This was just another average KO, nothing special.

I wasn't referencing when Gina went for the rolling knee bar, I'm talking about when Gina would topple from relatively basic punches. The fight wasn't entertaining in the least. It was Cyborg destroying Gina with a few moments of Gina making it into an actual professional fight, before squandering any and all chances to win.

I've seen local low level MMA showing far more talent than what was displayed in the ring in this fight.

Again, I'm not saying that the event couldn't have been great, but just like past UFC events that you ripped, the fights didn't live up to the billing. It was a very "blah" event.

I dont get the Randy angle you are going for, he was sitting out, he trained, he lost to Brock, but he held his own, it was turning into an even fight, Brock couldnt get him down in round 2 and Brock couldnt hold Randy down when he got him down and even grabbed the fence on Randys TD attempt

Also, lets not kid our selfs, Randy is 16-9, he hast won more than 2 fights in a row in like 8 years, he is more of an inspirational fighter, not a dominant 1, Randy wins 2 and losses 1, thats his MO

With Gina, she has shown drive in the past, so she has it, now lets see if she can do it again, its only 1 loss

These are bad assumptions to make because no one here knows how Randy was training. Who says that shooting a movie has to cut into his MMA training? Until he comes out and says that it did, or one of his trainers says so then there's nothing to base that off of. Besides Randy did not get mauled by Brock at all.

It's funny, Gina loses a fight that everyone expected her to lose, yet people are all over her for losing.

And maybe I saw a different fight, but this idea that Gina got killed isnt accurate. She was very competitive in that fight, had dominate position at one point, and even had Cyborg in trouble a few times.

She lost, big deal. Especially since it was to a bigger, stronger, better fighter. Everyone loses in this game. It was a fun fight, why so much negativity?
