Well, ESPN investigated the story about a decade ago, but finally had a second alleged victim come forward.

These guys are jumping on the molestation train, looking for attention. You don't wait 20+ years to come forward to talk about something like that, and then go straight to ESPN and talk about how you were a little boy getting your penis touched by an older man. Only like 10 days after the PSU scandal stole the headlines. And he says he felt "bitter" when these stories came out. Bitter because you want media coverage. If you're molested, you're scarred for life. Not just when molestation is news. Go to the police or a support group, not ESPN. And ESPN is fuckin soulless for chasing and milking these "stories". I usually do, like with Duke LAX or Sean Taylor's death. I'm not a fan of the whole court of public opinion going full blast any time it gets a bit of information, but this story just stinks to high heaven all around. Maybe I'm wrong though.

This story is a bit different from the PSU case, as there isn't a Grand Jury involved and at this point its just to people making claims. However, having said that I really wouldn't be surprised if it were true, as it seems these sorts of a great deal of men from that generation tended to do these sorts of things and keep it in the closet.

This story won't reach the level of PSU because as compared to Paterno Boeheim doesn't seem to have been involved. Also, Boeheim isn't portrayed and doesn't present himself as an icon of high moral value. Granted, he's a HOF coach, but he's held no where near the same regard as Paterno. Either way Boeheim shouldn't have denied it happening, because it is certainly possible.

I say we wait for the facts.

You're probably right about Paterno.

Beoheim shouldn't have said anything. With cases like this I'm of the belief that there is a reason someone accuses someone. What does it benefit someone to accuse someone of this? Eventually the truth will come out, so if the accuser is lying they'll eventually open themselves up to personal and legal issues. People work with kids every single day without these sorts of accusations, so there is something Fine did that was probably inappropriate. I'm not saying Fine is guilty of the accusations, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it comes out that he was engaging in some sort of activity with kids that isn't normal.

Just goes to show how people took glee in taking down Paterno, because as a society we search for reasons to take people down who have strong moral reputations. Just look at the treatment Tebow gets.

Boeheim even strongly supported his kid toucher, and flat out called the victims money grubbing liars. Paterno did none of that. But Paterno was a fun target to tear down, because of the super clean, all american from another era type image. "pffft, fuck him and his squeaky clean b.s., fire him, and I hope he suffers & dies from his cancer!"....pretty disgusting stuff was/is being said. AND WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT HE KNEW. We assume.
