Some of you will hate this choice, others might agree with it, but I don't think anyone could reasonably argue that it doesn't belong somewhere high. In the OP I mentioned that sometimes "simple is better", and that applies here. Stand alone, Gary Portney's "Everybody Knows Your Name" is a pretty corny song, but when attached to this show, it works perfectly.
The credits pair the actors name with their old time bar counterpart. Ted Danson's name appears next to the bar keep, Kelsey Grammer's name is shown next to a sophiticated gentleman wearing a monocle, etc. While somewhat simple, it would have been easy to fall into the sitcom trap of the era, and do a series of zany action shots from the show, or even worse, lame posed portraits, with name overlays. The route they chose was classy.
To me, this intro has it all. It's great without trying too hard, it's classy, and the music defines the show and has become iconic. It's the #1 television intro of all time.
