Started playing Saints Row. Holy shit are the graphics bad.

Still worth playing despite the horrible graphics? I was thinking about picking up the double pack.

I don't really know yet. Only played about 45 minutes so far. Seems alright, though. My character looks like a total jagoff. It's like the bastard child of Wildcat and OOBL.

its kind of overkill TBH. I get high FPS (60-90) for Witcher 2 with everything turned on. I will pick up BF3 soon....look forward to testing it out.

what kind of temperatures are u seeing with that game? i was up around 85C with witcher 2, but ME was in the 50-60 range...DA Origins got up around 72

i never had a high end card so i dont know what the normal range would be

I've never checked the temps of my video cards ever.

I just make sure when it hits march/april I clean the fan out and sept/oct do the same thing.

I have a utility to check the graphics cards but I don't I know i have good airflow and plenty of fans. I am more concerned about the CPU....I make sure the temps for that are nice and low. You should not run into any problems unless you try overclocking.

Welp, just finished the story in inFamous 2. A little disappointed that the fight with The Beast was one of the easier boss fights in the game. Wasn't real thrilled with the final outcome of the story (at least on the hero side, still need to play the villain ending). One thing I absolutely loved about this game was that it seemed to be one boss fight after another the whole way through. Made it so much fun. Also loved the new powers and the new weapon. All in all, a very enjoyable game.

Now on to Dead Space 2.

that would be nice. what did u do build your own PC? i dont know if that would fit into my tower. my fan and psu are both on the top end of the tower

although i dont think i need that. under normal usage its running about 32C - but during gaming it gets up around 85C with witcher.

dragon age origins on the pc is amazing. i changed the resolution to 1900x1080 in the game and it looks like a totally different game. the game looks 10 times better then the 360 version as is....but when i made that change to 1900 it took it to another level....WOW

i figured out another way to keep my shit cool. i took off the side panel to allow more airflow. adding the psu and all of its glorious extra cables didnt leave much wiggle room in the case....taking off that panel took off about 7-10 degrees

i would have loved to build my own PC. i just priced it out with the components i would want. including the gpu and psu i already bought i would be looking at $1400....i would still need a mouse and keyboard...fuck all that. im happy with my i5 processor. but i look at the i7 and think fuuuuuuuuu. this is why i hate PC's. as soon as you buy it its obsolete. and they are so dam expensive

i5 processors are no joke. They are VERY overclockable , and give the i7 a run for their money. A very good run!

Picked up the Sly Cooper collection along with the God of War I and II collection a week or so ago. I wish I would have gotten into the Sly series when it was out on PS2, but there were so many cartoony platformers out at the time, it slipped past me. I'm really enjoying the game, but the camera control can get a little tricky.

p.s. If any of you 360 Borderlands players need an extra for co-op, I need to finish Moxi and Claptrap Robolution.

Such a fun game, I loved stealing coins of enemies with Sly's sickle.

Yet another game I need to play. How bad was the PS3 version? Everything I read/heard said it was almost unplayable but I guess not if you played through it.

I want to beat the first one before starting that one though. The problme is that I was about halfway through way back on the Xbox1 and stopped playing for whatever reason. Then I restarted it on my 360 but the backwards compatibility for that game is horrendous. The radar didn't work worth a shit and it would freeze constantly. I ended up picking up a PS2 version and I'll start over on that because I know it will play fine on my PS3, unlike the Xbox version.

Just beat the game tonight... not going back to clean up for trophies for a while because I have Just Cause 2 and BF3 to get back to.

Mercs 2 is okay if you look past the need for a great story and something else to do in the game besides blowing shit up for free money and gas.

Shit starts off small with you making pals with the locals and the immediate oil conglomerate as you play all sides against each other; very "Yojimbo."

Eventually, the Chinese and the "Allied Nations" (U.S. troops backed with international funding) step in and you have to choose a side as to who will own Venezuela at the end of the game.

Playability-wise, it's fine.

There's pop-up on occasion (trees pop up on the ground when you're flying in a chopper; rocks dot the road in the middle of a race) but nothing that'll kill your game experience.

The killer for this game might be the lack of server support though; more specifically, if you load this game up while logged in on PSN, the shit will freeze almost immediately because it can't find a server to attach itself to.

You CAN however play it off-line but know that you'll never be able to Platinum the game because half the trophies require you to be logged in online and/or playing with somebody in co-op online.

God of War 4 coming soon?

Composer Timothy Williams updated his resume recently, and appears to have added that he has done some work on a new, not yet announced God of War game.

Doing music for a new God of War would certainly fall in line with Williams' other work. He has done music for many films including 300, Conan the Barbarian and Shark Night 3D, as well as video games like Rise of the Argonauts.

So I got Catherine from Gamefly after debating for the longest time whether or not to give it a go. Conceptually, I thought it seemed really interesting and unique, and I really liked Persona 4. Started it up last night.

Needless to say, it is already on its way back to Gamefly. FUCK. THOSE. STUPID. BLOCK. PUZZLES. That game was fucking BRUTAL. Controls? Bad. Camera? Attrocious. General interactivity? Nonexistent.

The story seemed...interesting enough, and the pseudo anime graphics are gorgeous, and most of the voice acting and writing is pretty okay for a localized game...but absolutely NONE of that was enough to make up for the fact that the most "fun" part of the game was when you were essentially doing nothing. To put it another way, I had more fun reading the Wikipedia plot synopsis than I did actually playing the game.
