Speaking of the Giant 360/PCcast I need another go to "mainstream" gaming podcast to listen to. Not only do I think their opinions are getting worse by the week, and their shtick of just seemingly hating on everything )mostly Gerstmann) but the thing that pisses me off the most is how they seem to treat the PS3 like it's the plague. All they do is bitch about how the 360 version of this game or that game has issues, but if someone happens to mention "Did anyone try the PS3 version?" all you hear are crickets. The most glaring examples are The Walking Dead, Dishonored and Far Cry 3 recently. All three are better on PS3 but not only do they not botherto inform their listeners of this (minus a few times whereBrad off-handedly mentioned that WD was "supposed" to be superior on PS3) but they bitch and bitch how shitty the framerate is in Far Cry, or how washed out the graphics look, etc. Then they go around the table and ask what they're all playing the game on...Xbox, Xbox, PC, Xbox...What a joke..

They have a point when they bring up the fact that consoles are pretty much maxed out at this point, and console games don't achieve as much as their PC counterparts. If you have a capable PC, you should probably go in that direction for the time being (especially for single player games).

I think you might also want to consider that the 360 might be their platform of choice, and it makes sense that they would want to play games that they're not reviewing for the site on their preferred platform alone. Not to mention the written reviews for the multiplatform games usually mention issues for each platform.

When they play games for fun, like Brad is playing ME3 (or was last week), who cares what they are playing it on? But when they are talking about playing a game like FC3 for review, and complain constantly about how piss poor the 360 version is but NONE of them even tried the PS3 version? That's just fucking ridiculous.

But in the written review it's mentioned that both consoles have noticeable frame rate issues compared to the PC version. Brad had to play at least some of the PS3 version to arrive at that conclusion.

The way I see it is the guy writing the review for the site has an obligation to get his hands on as many versions for multiplatform games and mention the differences in his review. I don't care what version the other guys play because they don't have that obligation, and they're technically playing for fun.

I think I'm done with Far Cry 2. The controls are too stiff for my liking, and I simply don't like a lot of the game design implementations like malaria, guard outposts, narrow paths, etc. It sounds like a lot of the problems with this game were improved upon with Far Cry 3, but I doubt I'll finish this one.

Bought a PSN Card and tried redeeming it in the store 3 times, each time getting the ol' "Error" message.

Talked to a Sony Rep online and now I get to wait until after Christmas, if that, to get a new code/screwed out of $20.

Update: Got an exchange for a new card.

Playstation Customer Service told me to go back to K-Mart to sort it out.

The lady at the Customer Service desk tried really hard to get me to let them keep my money but she failed.

Now I have $20 Funbux on my account.

I don't want some PS3 fanboy podcast either, I just want one that is impartial and actually gives all of the platforms a fair shake.

For instance, I was bored as fuck the other night at work and opened YouTube. One of the recommended videos was Shoemaker's 2012 Top 10. He and I definitely don't seem to have the same tast but I figured I'd watch it just to see his picks. The one thing that really stood out was his pick for Walking Dead, which I believe was 2 or 3 on his list. During his brief synopsis of the game and reasoning for why it's on his list he says something to the effect of "The console versions suffer from graphical and technical issues." No they don't dick, it's just the 360 version. He has even said on the Bombcast several times that the PS3 version is about as identical as you can get to the PC version and implored people to play the game on PS3 if you're a console gamer. Yet somehow during this video he either completely forgot everything he has said in the past, forgot the PS3 exists or I don't know what? If you're someone that isn't familair with them and stumbles across this video, or if you are familiar with their site/podcast but haven't heard older episodes you would just take this as gospel. That's just disingenious and completely failing their fans.

That's a shame. I loved it when it released. I still want to go back to it after I finish 3 to see if I still enjoy it.
