Although hey, now that there's a new dev team working on a CoD, maybe they'll throw something new into the series for the first time in ages.

What year will this be in?

Is Price in it?

I played through 5 chapters today and now have to stop to watch a movie or two. Going to try and kill it more tomorrow. The beginning of the game is very ant-Dead Space to me.

Parts of it have felt normal, but some of the parts feel a little off, like being around people. There's some parts tho that really give you that Dead Space feel. Story is dragging a little though.

That was something I never understood. I remember getting into arguments with people here about how it made no sense for him to be in all of those games because he should've been like 90 in CoD4. But their argument was "Who cares?!? Infinity Ward makes the greatest gamez evar!"

SkullGirls Fanbase Funds New DLC

When the developers responsible for Skullgirls were laid off from Reverge Labs last summer, they reformed as Lab Zero Games and pledged to continue working on the franchise, in November announcing that the first DLC character was "indefinitely delayed" while the studio found its footing.

Now Lab Zero is ready to get rocking on Squigly, its first DLC character, but it needs $150,000 to make that happen. Lab Zero set up an Indiegogo campaign to get the cash via crowdfunding, a move that puts the amount of money under a public microscope. Some potential players are outraged at the cost of making a single character – Lab Zero CEO Peter Bartholow tells Joystiq he doesn't expect people to understand the budget, but it is "reasonable with all the relevant information."

Bartholow breaks down the Squigly budget as follows:
$48,000: Staff Salaries – 8 people for 10 weeks
$30,000: Animation and Clean-up Contracting
$4,000: Voice recording
$2,000: Hit-box Contracting
$5,000: Audio Implementation Contracting
$20,000: QA Testing
$10,000: 1st Party Certification
$10,500: Indiegogo and Payment Processing Fees
$20,500: Manufacturing and Shipping Physical Perks
Original Skullgirls characters cost $200,000 - $250,000 apiece and the game's total budget was $1.7 million. The salaries in Lab Zero's Squigly budget are reduced, as well, Bartholow says.

"So, as you can see, over two-fifths of the money is spent on all the stuff we need to do just to get to collect the money and get her onto people's systems," he says. "This is just the reality of crowdfunding and independent console development right now. And also probably why more games don't do what we're attempting, too."

Skullgirls' $150,000 Indiegogo goal met in less than 24 hours

Skullgirls developer Lab Zero Games has not only succeeded in raising the $150,000 required to design, develop and implement the game's first DLC character, but in doing so has also delivered crowd-funding platform Indiegogo's fastest and most-funded gaming project to date.

The fundraiser met its goal after 22 hours, and is sitting just above $184,000 as of press time, with 29 days of funding still left to go. This means that the project's first stretch goal, a new level and story mode campaign for Squigly, the new character, has also been completely funded. If the fundraiser reaches $375,000 before its completion, Skullgirls' first male character, Big Band, will also be created.

Once completed, Squigly will be made available at no cost on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

I agree with him, although I think most of what he is saying is directed at MS. When you hear about how close minded they are with pricing, Free To Play, etc, coupled with the fact that every time you hear about a game update stuck in limbo it's always on the 360 end.

I am seriously concerned about the next generation though. Developers and studios are closing at a rapid pace these days and developing costs are only going up for the next consoles. If they don't figure something out soon this industry could be fucked. It's one of the main reasons why I will try with all my willpower to take a "wait and see" approach with the new consoles coming out in the Fall.

Holy fucking shit does the PlayStation Online web page suck dick. It could not be less intuitive if it tried. I tried downloading Plants vs Zombies on my Vita earlier and the Vita PSN store was loading slow as fuck. I tried downloading the game at least three times and kept getting an error. I then try going to the website per Handle's suggestion (although you can't queue downloads from there, right?) and after ten minutes I gave up. I could not figure out how to find ANYTHING, let alone PS+ offerings. Whenever I clicked on something, like the fucking PLAYSTATION PLUS banner I just got a synopsis of what the program is. There is no "Sign In" option that I could find anywehere. The closest thing I could find was something along the lones of "Account Management". I click on that and it opens another window asking me for my log in credentials. When I enter them all it takes you to is a screen that shows you how much you have in your wallet, a link if you want to add omney to your wallet and what systems you have activated on your account.

Worthless.

While I may never play a game like this, it warms my heart to know that the community behind it is willing to take steps to support the title they love to play.

And that the studio is willing to do anything to keep their audience happy because it makes them happy.

Twigg u wasted all that time typing that up and you were most likely not on the correct webpage.

Anyway..Future Soldier is pretty good. I really like 3rd person shooters over 1st person. I like the short understandable mission like take this Drug Lord out, rescue this CIA agent, ect, ect. I like all the gadgets u have access too. Graphics are meh and there is a lack of polish but I am enjoying it.

Deus Ex: Human Defiance Trademark Spotted

Square Enix has filed a trademark for the title "Deux Ex:Human Defiance".

It's not yet clear whether the application, which was filed yesterday, refers to a new entry in the series of prequels that began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution or the recently announced Deux Ex movie.

Of course it could all amount to nothing, but given the significant success enjoyed by the last game in the franchise, we'd be amazed if Square Enix wasn't keen to follow this up with a sequel.

Darksiders, Homeworld, Red Faction and other IPs next on THQ auction

THQ has announced that it will be auctioning off the intellectual property rights for a large portion of its back catalogue, including Darksiders, Red Faction and Homeworld. The full list of properties up for sale, broken into six lots and posted in full after the break, also includes games like Destroy All Humans! and numerous licensed products.

Once interested bidders have gone through the proper channels, initial bids must be submitted by April 1, 2013, with final bids due on April 15. Once all bids have been submitted, THQ will talk the situation over with the various entities it owes money to and will then designate a primary and back-up bid for each lot. Once all that has been completed, the sales will be presented to the court for final approval, expected to take place in May.
