Did I miss something in the article? The only thing I got out of it was that Sony wants to put HD Remasters on PSN for something like $10 a piece. Not exactly the backwards compatibility I had in mind.

Now, there was something about Sony filing patents on a hardware attachment for the PS3 not too long ago that I hoped would be used for backwards compatibility. I'd probably jump at one of those if it had a decent price. However, if this article is accurate, I'd imagine that a hardware solution is off the table since it wasn't mentioned at all.

Question for 360 owners; have you ever had any problems with your controllers basically not "recognizing" any kind of batteries you put in?

I had a rechargeable battery kit that I bought because my Play-N-Charge kit batteries stopped holding a charge. They worked great for a while and then all of a sudden I'd put freshly charged batteries in and it would say they were basically dead and the guide button would just flast incessently. Even though the charger and the batteries weren't that old I bought another kit, Energizer this time. After the first use the same shit is happening! The batteries are fully charged yest when I put them in my controller the 360 says they are dead. WTF?!?

I almost bought an old Final Fantasy game off of PSN the other day, but I held out and just got Uncharted 2 instead...it seems like there was a pretty decent selection of old PS1 and 2 games though.

Last night me and three friends went on a 34 win streak in Team Tactical on MW2 that is still going on. We were making everyone quit that played us. We captured 18 flags in one CTF game and also beat a team 5000-1000. We were dominating games so badly that the people just started giving up and killing themselves as we ran through them. And one of my friends got his first nuke, too. It was probably one of my better nights of MW2. We'll have to pick up our streak sometime today.

Well the reasoning the source gave for why a software method of allowing backwards compatibility is being abandoned irked me a little. HD Remasters are nice, but I don't want to buy another copy of a game I already have just to be able to play it on my PS3 TBH. I'd prefer not to spend $100 on a new PS2 either, but this appears to be the only way I'm going to be able to play my PS2 games.

I agree about PS1 Classics selection, especially since it would be hard to get a copy of some of those games without forking out a good piece of change.

Out of the 3, Red Dead's the one that'll give you most for your money.

4 DLC... 1 free, 2 add-ons for MP and the other being "Undead Nightmare" AKA RDR Zombies.

Fallout is completely different than the other two. If you like RPG's and bullshit dice roll shooting and attacks you would probably get more out of that game just because of length. I can't stand those types of games but to each their own.

AC2 and RDR are pretty similar. Both are open world type games but are action titles. Both had 20+ hour campaigns, plus like Jay mentioned, RDR had multiplayer plus several add-ons.

No GOTY for me. I might switch over eventually since I managed to get my copy for $10 (so a net loss isn't much of a concern), and the price of the GOTY edition is bound to drop in price further. If I do switch over, it'll probably be the PC version.

Best Buy's trade in values are much better than Gamestop's, but it took about five times longer to process. In the end the extra money was worth it though. I got 30 for MW2, 30 for Madden 11 and 10 for Just Cause 2, so I was able to buy Black Ops and have money left over.

David Voderhaar is not a happy guy. The design director for Call of Duty: Black Ops' multiplayer is busy dealing with the baffling lag problem in the PC version, so please stop "Twit-bombing" him with video of glitches and exploits.

"I'm not going to talk about it publicly," an obviously pissed Voderhaar said in the Black Ops forums (which are down for maintenance at the moment). "We are disinterested in making mini-celebrities out of douche-bags. You better think twice before you glitch."

Voderhaar is more than a little ticked off at the culture of being the first to glitch or exploit the latest Call of Duty game and the online bragging behind it. "I got Twitbombed today from dozens of people with the same two links," Vonderhaar wrote. "What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous. I'm not going to make them famous and you shouldn't either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that's how many people reacted today. You gave them exactly what they want."

He said if it were his call, he'd banhammer "anyone who thinks he is clever by abusing any glitches. Good thing I don't have the opportunity that often and we actually have a constructive, measured, and well-managed live ops team."

Voderhaar did thank those who "sent in polite, constructive messages without the hysterics." For gltiches that are reproducible issues, Voderhaar promised Treyarch would hotfix or patch "just like we said we would."

I don't think all Best Buy's are participating in game trade-ins yet. But anyway once you walk in, you get trade in stickers from the security guy at the front. Then you go up to the Geek Squad, wait like 40 minutes, sign a couple papers and get your gift card for whatever the games are worth. You can check out the trade in values online. Just google Best Buy game trade in.
