Question to all: NBA 2k11? I know it's supposed to be superb, my question is, for someone who isn't a huge basketball fan (never played it really in school, never watched anything but March Madness which was basically just an excuse to drink -- and still is), and doesn't really know much about the intricacies of the game, will I like it? The demo was fun enough and I was amazed at the level of detail, and lately I've slowly but surely been getting more into the NBA. What is the learning curve like? Would it help me to appreciate basketball more?

You and I are a lot alike, Seth. Don't really care much about the NBA, but I'll be damned if this isn't one of the best sports games ever created.

The learning curve is quite perfect, actually. You won't be crushing teams when you first start, but you get the hang of it fairly quickly. It's really about learning your team and how each player moves. And yes, it will definitely help you appreciate how successful fundamental team basketball can be.

Nothing's as big of a deal as a game that allows you to kick a dude in the balls then shooting them into a cactus.

Also, I bought Little Big Planet 2 so what do I know about gaming?

I just got this on Tuesday. Won 1 game out of 6 so far on the default settings (just quick games). I can stay close/have the lead for a lot of the game, but always fade at the end. Still learning the buttons/moves is a big part.

Was playing the Bulls/Clips game today, down by one. Wanted Boozer to face up, up fake and then drive to the rim. Forget to hold L2 and instead he launched a shitty shot and that was the game. Soon enough, I'll have that all down pat

Finally got my Platinum for Arkham Asylum. I had to take a break from this one because I kept scoring just below the 50,000 point threshold on the last freeflow challenge map.

Next up is Bad Company 2. I just need to get 4 Demo 2.0 kills for the last trophy.

For real though, I dunno if it's my old ass controller or what but that Grapple Shot Gun is testy as fuck.

Sometimes, I'll be able to swing across huge chasms with no problem and other times, I'll stop in midswing 10x in a row...

Jumping's floaty as hell, the Grapple Shot does what it wants and I'm having more fun with the Community-made levels than the story levels...

There are FAR worse games to get out on the market right now and LBP2 is good for a well-needed break from Mass Effect 2.

Of course now I'm "stuck" playing a shit-ton of levels and bitching about how much the DLC costs.

yeah they all don't really grab my attention. I think the idea is fantastic though.

That's fair. I still love platformers. Especially now that quality ones aren't as prevalent as they once were. I'm still kicking myself a bit for not scooping up DKC Returns for $35 a few days ago.

I played Ghostbusters finally. Every time I went to earlier, I got distracted and never played. I want to love the game, the characters are awesome and the environment is cool as shit, but the game play is very boring. It's still early so it can easily improve but if it stays the same, I'll find myself having to push myself to play it.
