That finisher looked like it didn't go the way it was supposed to. I think he botched it and hurt himself.
 
Pac Lensar (he gets bigger everytime I see him) and Low Ki had a solid match. Not as much flippy shit as I expected. I liked Tozawa/Mochizuki better.

LOL @ Low Ki campaigning for his own title. What part of the game is that, Senshi?
 
Nothing too great about Pac/Low Ki but nothing awful. I remember Pac being way, way better... has the added weight basically rendered him much worse? Or is he just trying to work a more calm style?

Not gonna lie, this event was good enough to where I'm heavily considering watching tomorrow's card.

I'm still mad that I missed AR Fox and Swann. :crying:

Pac has been tearing up Japan, even with his new steroid fueled physique, but he didn't show a ton here.
 
Overall it was a really good show. Even the DUF stuff wasn't terribly offensive. I still pop for Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer was a nice surprise.

The worst part of the show was The Scene, who have go away heat with me, and the long dry spell in the Callihan/Hulk match. I just don't get Callihan and never will.

1. Tozawa vs Mochizuki - not as good as the match they had in Japan, but still really really good.

2. Swann vs Fox - awesome spot fest, perfect way to open the card

3. World-1 vs Ronin - Gargano looked great, Yoshino is the man, Ricochet showed why people are raving about him. I like the heel turn, it was time to shake things up.

4. Pac vs Low Ki - nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't great, maybe a victim of hype


I'm thinking the CIMA injury might be a work...it allowed Gabe to get the titles off of CIMA/Ricochet (who are enemies in Japan now), and on to Ricochet/Yoshino who are stablemates. Plus CIMA took a bump at the end, and is presumably working tomorrow. I might be nuts, but it seemed like the booking worked out way too smoothly.

Thoughts?
 
What hurt the Mochizuki finish and main event finish a little, was the fans werent familiar with the finishing moves. That's nobody's fault, its not like they were in Kurokan Hall, but the.finishes were a bit flat none the less.
 
Just got back in...

- As I walked up to the place, Larry Zbyszko is outside, said hi, shook hands...meh.
- Then I walk in, saw fucking Jake Roberts. Again, hi, shook hands.
- During intermission, chatted with Tommy Dreamer a bit...the ol hi and hand shake with Colt Cabana.

AR Fox and Rich Swann was the perfect opener.
Tozawa and Mochizuki was a real good match, perfect before the intermission.
LowKi and PAC...it was slow...which would have been fine if they were pacing toward a 45m match, but it was just slow all of the way through. It was just good. Kind of expected more.
Main event was really really fun, no other way to put it. Chucky T is just a character. Nice heel out at the end there.

Overall, well worth my $20...haggling in the front with Gabe still never gets old...and they delivered, IMO.

And W2B...endings didn't so much fall flat, as I think the audience (smart trogs, btw) wasn't expecting the ends of the match at that point.
 
Seems a lot of people around the internet gave this a shot for the first time. Gabe has to be gutted that CIMA and Uhaa missed the show, but if there is a silver lining, I think CIMA really got himself over with his sympathetic promos and surprisingly strong english.

The good news for DGUSA, is I see a lot of first timers saying that they are considering buying tonights show. Even many of the ultra cynical geeks on the f4w board enjoyed it and are saying they would like to see more.

This show was good, but really would have kicked ass with CIMA, Yoshino vs Swann, & Uhaa vs Fox.
 
 
I'm not going to be able to watch tonight's show live but I would love a link if you get it Warner. I was all about that show last night and want to keep watching some DGUSA since ROH has completely and utterly bored me to death in the past year or two.
