Offensive Lineman, since its not really a good QB draft they could probably find someone in the second or third rounds that would be just as good as a QB in the first round but cheaper.

there d line is disgusting. Orakpo or someone of that caliber would be a good selection early on. but since they have the first round pick i dont see a d lineman going that early. so they could either pull the trigger on an o lineman or QB or trade down for more picks.

I think they have the 20th pick in the draft too so they might get lucky and have Stafford or Sanchez fall that far but an offensive lineman would not fall far as any team could use an offensive lineman.

They need offensive linemen. Every team lives and dies with the offensive line. They have a big game, your offense has a big game. They have a shitty game, your offense has a shitty game. I don't care how good your skill players are, you NEED a solid/dependable offensive line week in and week out.

Second pick I would grab a defensive linemen, or Maualugia(sp)/Lauranitis if they fall. A good stout run stopping/hole plugging defensive tackle or an emotional leader at midde linebacker would both be great picks.

I would say they need to draft a Kicker and Punter with their two picks. The team is pretty well rounded other than those two positions.

Lions need to draft a OG even though we need a LT, they say they have to much money invested into Jeff Backus and hes not strong enough to play guard so we cant actually draft a LT. our rookie RT Gosder Cherilus was actually good this year. I really dont know who to draft. Our d-line wasnt bad when healthy so I think our most pressing needs are a MLB, a CB, and a saftey.

I might get bashed for it, but I wouldnt mind Kitna for 1 more year then next year try and get a QB in the draft. Kitna was so fucked up in the head to start this season becase of Roy and Martz, maybe with them gone, he might be more stable.

An O-Line is needed... Detroit WR's are good, they just look weak becuz of the QB. They are actually solid receivers.

But look at teams like Dallas for example... They have weapons and a subpar o-line... Romo had problems. If you give a QB a line he'll do some work for you.

If I was Detroit, I'd bait a team to get that 1st for a late 1st and early 2nd, or maybe a late 1st early 3rd.

Martz man?? By the way Kitna gone, they only have Dan Orlovsky whom I think they should have battle with Daunte Culpepper(pending they resign him), and Drew Stanton.

Why go after a tackle when you just got Cherilus, and you already got backus. makes no sense go after every other position you need they been drafting O-line for awhile now its time for some true position players getting and Olinemen aint finna win you no superbowl.

If i'm not mistaken, Culpepper signed a 2 year deal, that's why he came out of retirement because he wanted a place to sign him 2-3 years.
I'd much rather see Stanton in there throwin the ball around to Calvin and whoever else we bring in, but with him being hurt and Orlovsky being the starter for some games, i would think it'd be..

1. Orlovsky (If we won the position battle in preseason..)
2. Culpepper
3. Stanton

I think that if we were to build up our O-Line a little better, and go 70-30 Run instead of say 60-40 pass, we could deal with an Orlovsky at QB next year.

And to the other part of the quote, yeah we just got Cherilus last year, but Backus isn't helping us much with 2-3 penalties every game and crappy assignment pickups, i know he could still play, but i think it's time to get a new guy in at LT.

Idk, it might seem i just kinda rambled around, but i have a bunch of different ideas and opinions that the Lions should do..

Ive already stated this, but with how much Backus makes, its not possible to draft an OT. We'd have to LTs making so much money, and Backus cant play G, so hes be on the bench and DET wont pay him that much money to sit there. If we drafted a LT, the rookie would have to play G until backus contract runs out.

As for Stanton, hes garbage, if you watched when he actually got put in the game, He looked to run almost everytime. With him at QB we would set the sack record.

And DET has an option with Culpeppers contract where we can cut him before March or something or pay him 4 million. I think were gonna cut his gay ass.

Right now, I think Kitna gives us the best chance. People dont want to believe it, but its funny because Kitna is the only other QB in the franchise to throw for 4000 yards.

I still dont see Mcnabb leaving Philadelphia. That would be a very bad decision if the eagles got rid of him. Mcnabb is one of the best all around QB's in the game right now. If they were to get rid of Mcnabb then they would be packing it in for a couple seasons because they would have no QB to replace him. They need to build up what they have not tear it down.

As for the Lions. I dont think they will make any huge signings. I expect them to do a lot in the draft though.
