I have been a member at OS since 2007. However, I have accumulated about 150 total posts. I tend to simply ghost on those forums or visit for sliders, rosters, etc. I never visited OS as much as MM, DSM, DSS, VSN or VSNDaily. After several months of ghosting, I decided to get involved in some MLB 2K11 discussion.
First, earlier in the week my thread was closed because I asked if there were any other PS3 players who were going to be playing 2K11. Thread was closed for, not trolling, but possibly starting a "fan war."
Today, I'm perusing the impressions thread and agree with one of the posters regarding the overall gameplay and some of the small glitches. I'm clearing responding to his impression and saying that some of the things he looks for in a game are the same qualities I take into account. Then, someone asks about FA/contract signing numbers in franchise. A previous poster provided this info earlier in the thread. I respond by saying:
"Someone posted this earlier and said the number for Pujols and Fielder were..."
And I went on to post the numbers that another poster had provided.
I get a PM from a mod saying the following:
HUH!?!?!? The whole thread is a discussion involving those with the game and those who have questions.
So I responded with the following:
I'm fully expecting a suspention, insta-ban or no response. Either way, this little experience reminds me why I simply ghost on their forums and barely post. The rules are not clear and the mods interpret/enforce the rules how they see fit. I love open communities like VSNDaily that aren't so heavily moderated.
Love ya VSN!

You have received a warning at Operation Sports Forums.

I think there needs to be some more clarity as to what goes on the forums. I have had a thread locked earlier this week just asking if there are any PS3 players on the web. Now, I have a response to a impression removed b/c it does not specifically reference a impression. I thought the point of the impressions thread was for those with the game to provide insight and for all forum members to have an open dialogue regarding the game as long as it stays on topic? I believe my response was a perfectly valid response to an impression provided by a member. Also, my other response regarding a question another user posed seems to have been deleted - when my answer was in regards to his question which was posted earlier by someone who provided an impression regarding FA signings and contract numbers after a simmed season.
As I said before, I don't intend to sound flip about the situation or question your decision-making. I'm just not clear as to a clear definition of what is and is not on-topic. I think we could find a large number of posts similar to mine that were permitted and have not been removed. Could you please provide further explanation besides providing a link to TOS.
Regards,
