Hitter: Brandon Inge

Guy finally has a good, about two months for once in his career, and suddenly makes an ASG. Yeah that was a pretty impressive .230/.314/.406 "career year". I'm not sure if he's overrated or not, but the vocal majority of Tigers fans seem to love the guy.

Honorable Mention: B.J. Upton

1 good season/playoff run, a career does not make. He's still young and may regain the promise he showed, but as of now he's not the superstar he's been expected to be, and it seems some people still think he is. We'll see how much of it was the shoulder injury.

Pitcher: Carlos Zambrano

Never been a big fan of this guy. I mean, he's a quality pitcher and all, but far from an ace as he's made out to be Cubs fans, especially in the last 3 seasons.

Also, I have to disagree with Jeter being overrated. I do feel he's vastly overrated defensively, but he's one of the better hitters around.

You don't rack up 2700+ hits and hit .317 by being "overrated".

4 Gold Glove awards and guess what his last one was 2009

4 Silver Slugger awards and guess what he's won 4 in a row since 2006.

Calling him overrated is one of the most ridiculous things i've ever heard. He is a team orientated player and a winner. If he was anything he's the most respected player in the league not overrated.

His .418 and .430 OBPs in the last 2 seasons disagree with you, as does his beastish OPS. I'm a Giants fan, and I disagree with this. Clubhouse chemistry means absolutely nothing (see again: 2002 Giants and the A's from back in the day).

also to add onto this...Manny is a excellent clubhouse guy if you keep him happy. The Sox weren't paying him what he wanted for a new contract. That's why he went all Manny being Manny. But it's not a huge deal. Keep him happy. He is still one of the best hitters in the game still.

If I'm up to bat with a chance to win, I'm not thinking "Man, that Manny guy is a jerk." and letting that effect my performance. IMO it's the most overrated thing in all of sports

ehhh I agree and disagree. I do think the clubhouse thing is overused but I still think it does sometime have an effect on the team. When Manny was going on with his shenanigans in 08 it definitely did affect the way the Red Sox were playing.

I don't, but I definently agree saying it's not going to change his at-bats. It will change fielding if anything.

I don't see how Derek Jeter is overrated. I've said before: he's that guy that every non Yankee fan hates but would have a constant chubby for if he played for their favorite team.

As for Hamels, how is he overrated? He has been SLAMMED in the last year, ESPECIALLY in Philly. He had a great WS and thanks to the 12 billion Comcast commercials he did (or maybe the 2 that he did that I saw 12 billion times here in Philly) had a shittastic year last year. I don't know how he could be considered overrated.

Ryan Howard is my most overrated hitter but I might be biased by my Phillies hate and my not being impressed by home run hitters.

K-Rod is my most overrated pitcher. Who cares about the saves. I haven't seen a guy turn so many 3 run save opportunities into 1 run games in my life

Those are both good picks, and I am a huge Ryan Howard lover. Last season he made tremendous strides with his clutch hitting for me, but he is still a strike out machine and still looks like Pedro Cerrano when someone throws him a breaking ball.

I just despise everything about K-Rod. Him now playing for the Mets certainly doesn't help his case.

Yeah, Jeter is definitely overrated as a fielder (and even then, he has made a marked improvement in his D over the last couple of years), but as a hitter you would be hard pressed to find anyone better at his position. The guy has lead all AL shortstops in VORP for three out of the last four years (he finished second in 2008 behind Johnny Peralta).
