I really wish I could understand the MGS story, its so confusing to me but I really enjoy the games

new version will also include the ability to fully install the game. no more having to sit through those endless loading screens at the start of new chapters.

Fans of Metal Gear Solid 4 remember one thing very, very well: Snake enjoying a cigarette for anywhere from one to eight minutes while the chapter data was installing. Fortunately, new players and those picking up the re-release of the game won't have to take quite so many smoke breaks. According to Konami's website, the upcoming re-release will feature an option for a full install of all the textures and data needed to play the game. It's not clear how long this install will take and players don't need to use the option if they prefer the old way of doing things.

It's not known whether this will also be included with the trophy patch we reported on earlier. Nonetheless for new players, and old players who've cleared out their installs to make room for new games, it's a welcome option.

I think they were gonna release a super edition of MGS4 ( a la MGS2 Substance, MGS3 Subsistence) but they just didn't do it i suppose. So theyre just gonna patch in trophies and maybe full install

I don't really remember long load times before each chapter. I remember a super long one for an install at the beginning though. 40+ minutes if I remember correctly.

Yup. The initial install was ridiculously long, but the rest were ok.

Kojima Productions recently revealed that they will be adding trophy support for their Playstation 3 exclusive title, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, four years after the game’s original release. Sean Eyestone, the Assistant Producer at Kojima Productions, recently took his time to explain why the process took so long. You can check out some screenshots from the game in the slideshow at the top of this article and his explanation from the developer’s latest podcast episode below:

We’ve been trying to get it off the ground. It got started, stopped, started, stopped. It’s been a long process. Unfortunately, it just works out that way because of the staff we have. Unfortunately, we don’t have unlimited staff and, whenever we finished one project, they almost immediately jumped unto the next; which means we couldn’t get the programmers and the designers necessary to work on trophies because they have always been busy with things like Peace Walker or various other projects.

Just decided to play MGS4 after it has been sitting around forever. Either the game is old by today's standards, or I'm not a fan of MGS anymore.....I think it sucks. Slow and boring.
