Last I heard, Packers defense is #1. Rodgers is getting rid of the ball quicker, and the offensive line is actually pushing the D-lines back rather than getting owned and getting flags thrown every five plays for holding.

I was at the MNF game against the Ravens...Rodgers got a standing ovation for throwing the ball out of bounds when he scrambled out of the pocket. The crowd did it for the lulz.

-They take good care of the ball and have an opportunistic defense (#1 in turnover margin)
-Offensive line is playing a lot better than it was earlier in the season
-Rodgers is dangerous when he gets time to throw the ball
-3-4 defense is starting to come to fruition

Cowboys were on a hot streak, as well as the 49ers. Bears are horrible but are a rival and it is always a good game, but the Packers dominated them everywhere but the scoreboard. Ravens were playing for playoffs and made 52 Ray look like 52 Clay's bitch. Lions are the Lions.

The defense actually got better with the loss of Al Harris and Aaron Kampman. Harris is just getting too inconsistent as he gets older to be playing CB and Kampman is an incredible talent but he is a true DE for a 4-3 defense, not an OLB in the 3-4. The OL is doing a little better job but Rodgers is also getting rid of the ball quicker and not taking so many needless sacks.

The schedule has been somewhat favorable as well. Don't really have a tough opponent until the last game of the season @ Cardinals unless Paulomaulo comes back for the Steelers before that matchup.

The offensive line is what had them looking so very poor earlier this year, it has played a ton better and has made them legit contenders. But they've definitely fallen under the radar because all the focus on them was the games against Favre, and Minnesota trampled em in both games, so they've definitely gone over-looked. I think they got a great chance in the NFC with the improved play of their O-Line. And they're doing this without 2 of their best defensive players, Al Harris and Aaron Kampman. Very impressive.

I am a Packer Fan, but like someone said earlier, the Raven game is about the only legit win so far. T
theyve only competed with weak teams up to that point. They are skitzo. A team to possibly be afraid of if they made the playoffs. But,for the most part I doubt it.
Its all about the Saints , Vikings,Eagles and possibly Cards when it comes to the playoffs.

The NFC is so damn crazy... Saints, Vikings, Cardinals, Packers, Eagles, Cowboys, Giants... All of those teams are capable of playing in the superbowl. (It will be Saints or Cardinals in the end)

it's all gonna come down to rodgers being clutch in the playoffs. and like i said in the other thread, rodgers has yet to come through when it really matters. he is anti clutch. he's been on national tv alot, everyone has seen it. everytime the occasion comes up where hes really gotta hit a 3rd down conversion or respond with a scoring drive, something awful happens. he is a great quarterback if the game is going his way. he's just piss poor at handling pressure and responding to adversity, rising to the occasion... the favre games were devastating to the fans but the team has quietly kept on plugging away.

i was really vocal about my disappointment in the 3-4 early in the season because it wasted the best player on the defense, aaron kampman. and it did. but the players who stepped up when he went down were great. tramon williams defies anyones expectations who has seen him play. al harris is done in green bay. charles woodson is also playing out of his mind and clay matthews has turned out to be a great player. dom capers was nothing special with his houston defenses overall, and he was crap in miami. but he seems to sneak several "wait, maybe he really does know what he is doing" moments into every game.

but the season will all come down to aaron rodgers wildcard weekend on the road. and we havent been given any indication that he can come through in a pressure cooker like that. let's hope he learned something after he fucking wilted underneath favre's light.

Then if he comes through, we just might see him have to go to minnesota... which... i mean... i don't even wanna think about that. I wore a favre jersey for years. my packer hat is like, synonomous with me to all my friends. i wrap myself in packer blankets on gameday. and i hate brett favre. i hate him so much. Losing to him in the playoffs would be somewhere beyond "come to your dad nailing your super hot girlfriend" level of pain to the packer faithful. I can't think about this anymore.

this is what i think as well. but as someone else said their o-line is playing better... for now.

What on earth are you talking about? Do you have any evidence to back up your claim, or is it just based on your faulty memory?


Packers are doing better because they have Clifton and Tauscher back at OT. Both of them are on the downside of their careers and really aren't all that good, but they are better than who the Packers had playing instead of them.

I'm still not sold on Dom Capers as a defensive whiz. Charles Woodson is playing really well, but he's always been a good player. In recent weeks they've had Collins and Bigby healthy at safety, and BJ Raji has started to assert himself. I think the Packers are starting to accumulate some talent on the defensive side with Matthews, Raji, and, to a lesser degree, Williams...and this is a huge change from recent drafts which featured total defensive busts like Harrell and Bush.
