How many NFL players would take a 100mph rubber puck in the face? Likely none. Yet I could show you about 100+ NHL players that would do just that, just to make a single play in a single game.

Hockey is a sport where heart, desire and sacrifice trump all. Suggesting otherwise is just plain ignorant.

Canadians and the essentially adopted Canadians that grew up playing hockey just have a totally different sporting culture. The only guys who show even the faintest disinterest in winning get literally sent to Siberia.

The guys competing in the latter stages of the Cup playoffs get more and more banged up every night and yet every individual's intensity only goes up at the same rate. There has not been one player on any of the Stanley Cup winners since I have been watching hockey who I would slight as not determined purely to win the Cup.

And for every potentially greedy NHLer who's soon to be ejected I can think of 20 guys taking a veteran minimum for less than 10 minutes per game consisting of getting banged about in the corners, throwing themselves face first into a 90mph slapshot or taking fists to the face for their teammates' safety.

You're correct I'm a black guy living in America....I know nothing about the sport of hockey....I tried to watch it a few years back, but couldn't deal with it. However, I was pretty good on Blades of Steel for the Nintendo back in my day.

Most of what hockey players deal with is due to the nature of the sport, so obviously an NFL player woudn't take a puck to the face, because they don't have to. I'm sure not to many hockey players would extend themselves in mid-air to catch a pass with defenders ready to take their head of either. Me saying that has nothing to do with anything as hockey players don't have to deal with that. Hockey is certainly a tough and physical sport and football is a tough and physical sport.....I'm not gong to get into which is more tough, because thats a retarded argument.

Hockey players playing a game they love is no different from an NFL player playing the game they love. Both are sports and guys have heart, desire, make sacrifices and make a lot of money.

There was an article posted a month back where a former player said 70% of NFL players only played for money and gave some fairly glaring examples. It was an in ESPN article where I can only seem to find places like the denver post quoting from it:

NFL players are a joke imo. Last year in the NHL we had guys like Ian Laperriere who did shit like this trying to win a championship:

Just recently Brayden Schenn played in the World Jr. Tournament (think of it like March Madness but for hockey players) with a separated shoulder for 3 games. He couldn't lift his arm to brush his teeth, yet sucked it up and went ahead and scored a goal and had an assist against the americans in the semi final. I won't discuss the gold medal game since thats a moment I'm not going to forget.

So fuck NFL players and fuck Tiki Barber and his wierd ass way he holds the ball when he runs.

I'd like to see him go to TB, play with his brother. They could use depth too, but he's nothing more than a stop gap. He could be a good player if they keep his reps lowish.

Agreed- he never had that much mileage on him that other backs had, as he started carrying the load later in his career. I can definitely see him being a solid third down back at the very least, with pass-catching being his best skill.
