I am actually shocked this didnt get a sequel. It was great and I thought it did well financially.

Didn't play Too Human or Warzone.

Agree with the rest. Additionally, I would say it's time for Deus Ex to come back. HR was a decent game, but it really came out too soon. People are looking at games to have fanatastic SP stories and the like. Perfect time for Deus Ex and it's non-linear play and storyline development.

LA Noir, yes. I'm just now playing this and all I can think is how much I'd love more cases.

Tie Fighter/X-Wing is long, LONG overdue. So is the Jedi Knight series for that matter. I have a feeling that with the new Star Wars movies there will be an influx of Star Wars games again.

KOTOR ... would have to be revamped. A lot. Probably the most polarizing game for me. I hate turn based combat. But I loved the depth and the stories of those two games. Give me some sort of real time combat with that kind immersive story telling.

Half Life 3 . . . yea, no shit, right?

Prey. There was talk of a sequel but it never came about.

Vanquish. Way over the top but fun as hell.

Too soon relative to what? HR came out 11 years after the original, and 8 years after that abomination called Invisible War. That seems like a long enough wait to me.

As a point of reference, it's also been 8 years since the last Jedi Knight game.

The style of play they were going for was about 2 years earlier than it should have been.

I loved Jedi Knight. Especially when I found the dismemberment codes. Storm trooper body parts everywhere!!

I brought out my GameCube to play Rogue Leader, and JK2 is probably the next game I'll play when I'm tired of that.

I feel like you're both kind of missing the point of me referencing the Jedi Knight series. It was merely because I didn't understand what Slateman meant by "too early". I thought that he meant that not enough time had passed, which was why I brought up the Jedi Knight series (which he referenced in his post). I had no idea that he meant "too early" in...whatever way he meant it. I'm still not entirely clear on that.

Well, I think they dumped the JK series for The Force Unleashed, which if you take as a whole, was very underwhelming because of the sequel and both games being pretty short. I'd love to see another JK game as well, but didn't want to make this a Star Wars centered list.

It's sad because the first JK wasn't just the first Star Wars game that gave you a lightsaber from a first-person perspective with force powers, it was also one of the first to have a morality system (maybe the first, I'm not up on my gaming history.) It was pretty basic, but it was there.

For the record, I think that most of the Jedi Knight games are pretty terrible in retrospect, and I definitely do not want another Jedi-swordy-fighty game just because of the Force Unleashed. Just me, though, clearly.

I disagree with your assessment of the JK series. I do not want another Force Unleashed game, so in that respect I agree with you. The second game was horrible, and just felt like DLC that we should have purchased instead of a full-game. It was also fairly unbelievable as far as plot goes. Just an all-around bad game.

Since you didn't make it part of your 5, Tomas, please, I would like to know a new 5: how Jedi Knight (your favorite, I'll give you that freedom) holds up today. No mixing and matching. Just how one of those games is good in retrospect. Sorry to make this so negative, but I find this to be interesting.

I would love an updated sequel of a cop in modern times. I still play the hell out of True Crime on my PS2 on occasion, and play GTA from a cop's point of view as well.

That's tough, because the only one that has a chance to hold up is Jedi Outcast, which I would need to play again since I played it the fewest times. The original Dark Forces was a Doom clone, and Jedi Knight I played quite a bit, but lightsaber combat was awful.

On another note, I played a lot of Rogue Leader over the weekend, and that holds up very well. I thought it could have done better with more missions, but I enjoyed it. I also played some of Rebel Strike, and while ground combat was awful (and never should have been added) they did a great job with improving fighter combat and I thought it was the best of the series.

Sometimes I'll tag along on pursuits, I'll intervene in random incidents that happen, and occasionally make traffic stops. I do my best to use the tazer rather than the guns.

They are missing the boat with fitting that into a storyline somehow. Not the main thing, but you can't tell me that having a series of side missions where you impersonate a cop and actually have to be on the "good side" isn't a great idea.

I would love to see a GTA "Police Edition" in the future.
