Tips on stopping the play-action pass

Anyone have any good tips on stopping the play-action pass rolling to the right?

Got a few friends who use any play rolling to the right alot. Having trouble this year stopping it because there is no pass committ. I know what's coming and can't stop it at times..lol.

Any particular zones work for anyone? 4-3 Cover 3 and cover 3 press has some limited success for me.

Any particular blitzes? Corner blitzes are kind of hit or miss for me as well.

How does highlight the WR you think it is going to working?

Just wanted to get peoples strategies on this.

Yeah, it's not neccessarily a big bite on the defensive players, it's just that they just don't react initially, and that gives the wrs the space they need to get going on their route. Granted I understand that might be realistic, but there has to be some good defensive play calls to counter it.

Usually people do it where the QB rolls to their throwing hand side. So just blitz the ROLB or LOLB depending on whichever side. A zone blitz usually works the best, but getting pressure on the QB is key.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try some.

I usually base my defense on straight up man, under man with safeties over top for the deep ball, I like to bend not break.

But that throwing hand side roll is frustrating to stop.

I wonder how good the spotlight thing works might have to give that a whirl.

yeah I've tried this, but sometimes they can still get it off quick.

The play is Singleback ACE PA Roll RT,,,tight end goes blue route, that's the hard route to stop.

What works in practice is just controlling the right end, and just following the TE out there. The other tight end comes across from the other side as well as the WR from way over there too.

Last year and on NCAA 10 I could loop around with the right end and get pressure sacks, but I keep getting chipped this year.

If you have a fast DE, play contain on that side. It'll suck the QB in every time.

Ok I just labbed a bunch of blitzes from DBs from the outside. The problem is they don't blitz from the outside, they start to blitz, see the play action, bite, then go running towards the middle of line of scrimmage..lol. They don't go on a straight path from the outside from their position. I just labbed this a ton.

The problem could be I'm using the falcons and our Dbs suck and have poor recongnition so maybe that has something to do with it??

I just labbed this play alot it's nasty this year, see for yourself, Singleback - ACE ROLL RT -

CPU has the blue play tight end on his right or the TE on his left coming across or the WR running a corner. Because the zones are so bad players just lose track of were they are supposed to be.

The only close to stopping it I got was just using 4-3 under - overload strong, and use the RE to just spring out to where the blue pattern is going.
