Cowabunga! Bodacious! Other TMNT saying! Pardon the hoopla, but Ubisoft has confirmed to Joystiq that next week's XBLA "Summer of Arcade" release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, will debut at 800 ($10), 400 ($5) less than the originally announced 1200 ($15) price.

"We wanted to give something to the loyal TMNT fans in honor of the 25th anniversary," Ubisoft responded when asked about the last-minute change. Then again, dare we really question the generosity of a mega-publisher when it actually want us to shell out less for its games? (Oh, and for those eyeing the 800 [$10] rebate from MS for buying everything in the Summer of Arcade lineup? Well, it just got $5 cheaper to buy "everything.")

I don't want to go all Twigg with my MS conspiracy theories here, but my guess is they had intended an 800 point sale to begin with, but figured they'd try 1200 to see if people would bite. Everybody went crazy, and they dropped it to 800 to act like they're listening.

I personally don't give a shit about the points thing, because if I really want something I'll get it and enjoy it from 5 to 15 bucks. If I think 15 is too much, I just won't get it.

Lol, my school just tried pulling the same crap. They were proposing an 11% tuition hike for undergrads (state average is 5.5%) and lowered it to 9% and passed it. The student body is livid.

Despite the fact that it's likely that's exactly what they were going to do, I think it's a much more reasonable price point for the game. I don't consider it a deal they lowered it, I think they lowered it to where it should have been from the start.

It's just one review. It does suck that you can't toggle the graphics filter though.

Hey, does anyone remember Hostess Turtle Pies? They had green icing on the outside and vanilla pudding inside. And they came with a card or sticker. Yummy.

...Excuse me while I go to download the trial which will probably take 10 minutes for the option to pop up thanks to laggy as NXE. Speaking of which. I was all sorts of pissed off yesterday. I added 4000 points to my account from a card. I go to add another 4000 points only to get an arror message. It took about ten more tries and waiting a few hours for it to finally work. Piece of shit.

Been playing the hell out of this game. They changed a couple bosses and swapped some levels around. This game seems a bit shorter, but I wouldn't say it's worse. Just a breathe of fresh air.
