If you are an all or nothing type of fan with that 12 year old Boston/NY mindset then you have chosen poorly with the Bucs.

Well I can die tomorrow and say that I have seen and remember vividly us hoisting a Lombardi so Ive chosen better than most. Kills me when fans of teams go on about winning multiple chips but wasnt alive for or old enough to remember any of them.

Oh, ur 26 going on about championships the Cowboys have won? STFU. We had this discussion in the CB a few weeks back, what would you rather be? A Bucs fan who has been a pretty lackluster organization over the past decade or so but has won a Lombardi or an Eagles fan who has been very successful from a win/loss/posteseason standpoint with nothing to show for it?

Im taking the trophy and the mediocrity that followed %100 of the time.

I don't think Boston/NY types celebrate their draft position on non-title seasons though. That's BigBums shit.

One of, if not THE best tight end to ever play the game. Very sad to think about not seeing him play again, but it was certainly a pleasure watching him the last 11-12 years or so. What a career he's had. One of my favorite players of all-time, especially back in his tenure with Kansas City. Wish him the best if this is indeed the end of the road for Gonzalez.

i get the ifs...but even without the ifs you have guys like Mackey, Sharpe, Christianson, Casper, Newsome, Ditka.

Gonzalas is one of the all time greats and you can make an argument that he is the goat. not my choice, but he is still great

What sets Gonzalez apart from most of the TEs of past generations is his durability. Guys like Mackey, Ditka, and Casper were great for a few years, then they got too beat up and they weren't as effective toward the end of their careers.

What sets Gonzalez apart from guys like Shannon Sharpe is that Gonzalez actually played on the LOS. Sharpe was used almost exclusively as a flex TE, letting the Carswells and Clarks do the dirty TE work of blocking. Gonzalez was a much better all-around TE.

I think its pretty clear that he is the greatest TE in NFL history.
