10) Luke Staley, BYU = token white guy did win the 2001 Doak Walker award. I thought he’d be the next Craig James, but turned out to be the next Travis Jervey.

9) LenDale White, USC = The perfect size/speed combo in college, but was more like Ron Dayne in the NFL. I remember him scoring a ton of TDs over the years at USC.

1) Darren McFadden, Arkansas = triple-threat RB, could do it all against SEC competition and made it look easy.
 
McFadden was amazing in college. Not to mention Peyton Hillis and Felix Jones were in the same backfield. The amount of talent was talent. It's a shame Mitch Mustain and Houston Nutt had to get all emo with each other. That could have been a great team.

Another fun backfield was Ray Rice/Brian Leonard at Rutgers.

Speaking of Leonard, his NFL career was snakebit. He was drafted to the Linehan Rams, where he played for two years and won 5 games. Then he was traded to the Bengals. Has there ever been an NFL player who won less games in four seasons?

Great list, thanks. I would put Cadillac Williams on the list and remove Cedric Benson, who I think you have way too high. Benson put up a lot of yards in college but never really wowed me, tbh.

Other random favorites of mine were Willis McGahee, James Davis, Dexter McCluster and Jerious Norwood.
 
Benson is the most pedestrian back to run for 1,000 yards since the late 80's, early 90's when guys like Cleveland Gary and Bobby Humphries were doing it yearly. He is the epitome of a "plug & play" RB at the pro level. He does nothing particularly well.
 
what about Auburn 2004. Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, add in Jason Campbell at QB :woah:
