10) Luke Staley, BYU = token white guy did win the 2001 Doak Walker award. I thought he’d be the next Craig James, but turned out to be the next Travis Jervey.

9) LenDale White, USC = The perfect size/speed combo in college, but was more like Ron Dayne in the NFL. I remember him scoring a ton of TDs over the years at USC.

8) Garrett Wolfe, NIU = saw a lot of Wolfe, and he was good for one long TD run per game. Too small for the NFL, though.

7) Michael Turner, NIU = amazing speed for someone his size, ate up the MAC competition.

6) Mark Ingram, Bama = maybe not the most impressive RB, but I give Ingram credit for doing great against SEC defenses.

5) Cedric Benson, Texas = very explosive in college, don’t know what happened in the NFL

4) Darren Sproles, Kansas State = one of my favorite college players ever. Human highlight reel.

3) Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma = a man among boys, very intense running style.

2) Reggie Bush, USC = say what you want about his NFL performance, he was one of the most memorable RBs in college history.

1) Darren McFadden, Arkansas = triple-threat RB, could do it all against SEC competition and made it look easy.
