Never said Granger was a better scorer , I said he scored better last season . Granger also missed 2-3 games last season with injury .

By the way just to test your who would get the shots story

Granger attempted 1,277 shots in 80 games
Melo attempted 1,207 in 77 games

Melo attempts more shots per game even with them scorers around him

So Melo averaged 3 PPG less while taking more Shots per Game in effect

Just to let you know, Granger took more shots per game. He took a shot or two more, and like 3 times as many threes as Carmelo. That and the fact that Melo has scorers around him, explains why Granger averaged 3 points more.

The Granger-Melo debate comes down to the same thing as the Durant-Melo debate. What has Danny Granger done/is doing that Melo hasn't already done 5-6 years ago? The answer is nothing. What did Melo do 6 years ago that Granger hasn't done/isn't doing? Lead his team to the playoffs three straight years with no other real scorers. Call me when Granger does that. (not talking to anyone specific, just saying in general).

The old Nuggets are kind of what the modern Pacers are. A good player surrounded by average talent. Carmelo took that kind of team to the playoffs 3 straight years by himself (beginning in his rookie season), Granger has yet to do that. Right now he's putting up the points, but he hasn't scratched the surface of what Melo accomplished in his rookie season alone.

About the Drew Brees thing, like I said you interpreted what I was saying in my last post wrong, but I did mention in the top ten quarterbacks thread that football isn't like basketball where one player can almost do it by himself. Look at Kobe with his Smush/Kwame days. Iverson and the Sixers. Carmelo with the Nuggets who's second leading scorers were Andre Miller and Voshon Lenard. Etc, etc.

Fair enough , I thought you were trying to take a shot at Granger for not carrying a team to the playoffs like Melo has . By the way I have also never said Granger was better than Melo infact in my first post I said it may be my homerism speaking when I said I would rather have Danny . Not that hes better , I was speaking purely in terms of if I had to pick one for a team .

But I can see why/where there could be some argument for people putting Granger ahead and was meerly attempting to backup where somebody could be coming from .

And you are right Football is more of a team sport but If you took a shot at Danny I had to hit back

messenger, i think you are giving melo too much credit by saying he carried the nuggets to the playoffs for three straight years all by himself. it probably needs to be pointed out that they were 8th, 7th, and 7th in terms of record, so they weren't exactly blowing people out of the water. and in the year where they were they posted their best winning percentage (.598, 04-05) he set career-lows in just about everything and they had a few guys that had pretty productive seasons, even if they didn't specifically qualify as a fantastic 2nd scoring option behind melo

Denver was a bit better defensively, but the Pacers had much better shooters than that Denver team.
