There's at least five different Beatles commercials, so we can definitely have four different Smiths' songs.
1.The Black Keys – Brothers- Probably the one of the only CDs this year that I will be listening to for years.
2.Big Boi – Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Song Of Chico Dusty – One of favorite people to watch perform live.
3.Kid Cudi – Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager – Im not going to lie I was one of the people that hated this CD the first listen through. After a few listens I was really digging this album
4.Ratatat – Lp4 – Anyone that doesn't like Drugs is just plain retarded. Such a great CD.
5.Vampire Weekend – Contra - Cousins is probably one of my favorite songs on this CD. There are many people that didn't like this CD, but fuck them.
6.Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – I absolutely love Runaway, one of favorite tracks of the year.
7.MGMT – Congratulations – Just like MNTM2 people didn't really like this CD after the first listen. CD really becomes good if you set back and listen to it a few times.
8.Deadmau5 – 4x4=12 – Some Chords is an instant classic as well as any of the SOFI songs.
9.Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives – Almost completely forgot this CD came out this year. Been bumping it for so long it felt like 2009.
10.Arcade Fire – The Suburbs – Probably the only thing out of Canada I can stand.
Now I feel like a faggot because I made the list before I looked at the thread and I like bands that Anthony and Heels like.

Alrighty, this is always tougher than I think because while I discover a ton of new music throughout the year, it's largely only new to me.
Top 10 For 2010
10. The Final Frontier - Iron Maiden. A typically solid Maiden album that meshes in with the older stuff just fine. When I through on my Maiden mix tape, I don't ever find myself thinking 'uggh, I hate this new stuff', which for a 30 year old band is a great compliment. All bow to Bruce D
9. Suburbs - Arcade Fire. For some reason, I didn't really enjoy Neon Bible. I thought this album was great.
8. Age of Adz - Sufjan Stevens. I never really listened to Sufjan, save for songs here and there (i.e. I love Chicago from the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack). This album brought the heat and I love listening to it.
7. Hundreds - Hundreds. Another that fit the 'haunting' category. Slightly echoy vocals and creative synth use drives this one home
6. High Violet - The National. While I really like the National, I found myself enjoying individual songs more than full albums the last two. High Violet was an auditory experience I enjoyed from start to finish.
5. Fences - Fences. A Seattle band that I saw when I was down there. He hits that mix of indie rock and folk guitar that I love.

3. Go - Jonsi. I love Sigur Ros. To the max. This is like Sigur Ros, but with a slightly different sound. Really liked it
2. Broken Bells - Broken Bells. Absolutely fucking flabergasted I don't think I saw this on anyone elses list. The Shins + Gnarls Barkley? FUCK AND YES. If Wolf Parade hadn't dropped this year, this would be number one no problem. Even then, I almost put this number one. I love this album so much and have listened to it probably more than anything else that came out this year.
1. Expo 86 - Wolf Parade. I am a MASSIVE Wolf Parade fan (Handsome Furs, Sunset Rubdown, etc, listen to all their side projects) and I thought this was their best album yet. When I saw them live, I absolutely lost it

2. Broken Bells - Broken Bells. Absolutely fucking flabergasted I don't think I saw this on anyone elses list. The Shins + Gnarls Barkley? FUCK AND YES. If Wolf Parade hadn't dropped this year, this would be number one no problem. Even then, I almost put this number one. I love this album so much and have listened to it probably more than anything else that came out this year.
1. Expo 86 - Wolf Parade. I am a MASSIVE Wolf Parade fan (Handsome Furs, Sunset Rubdown, etc, listen to all their side projects) and I thought this was their best album yet. When I saw them live, I absolutely lost it

My top 10, with apologies to fans of Arcade Fire as I haven't heard the album. Was very out of the loop musically this year. I didn't have any money all year and downloading has increasingly rubbed me the wrong way, so I've had a very limited look at 2010's music.
Here goes:
10. "Lasers" by Lupe Fiasco

9. "Pursuit of Nappyness" by Nappy Roots
One of the albums I've yet to add to my collection due to my lack of funds and my refusal to bone over the particular artist. I've heard many of these tracks on youtube though, and they are your typical awesome Nappy jams. Criminally underrated and underplayed, this group is. I shudder to think that some people stopped checking for their music and file them in the "flash in the pan" or "one hit wonder" category. They most certainly are not, and from the tracks I've heard, they bring the same fire that they showed on their first three albums. Favorite tracks: Fishbowl, Ride
8. "K.R.I.T. Was Here" by Big K.R.I.T.
I am so god-damn late on this one, that I've only listened to it a few times. Just know that every track bangs and this southern head is ashamed to have slept on it for so long. Favorite tracks: Hometown Hero
7. "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" by B.o.B.
Not unlike Cudi, this Atlanta singer/rapper relies on catchiness to mask some of his lyrical deficiencies. He just does it with a lot more energy. Really like the versatility he displayed on his debut album, but would like a little bit more lyrical substance moving forward. The Andre 3000 comparisons are laughable at this point due to Bobby's inability to craft a verse without relying on simplified rhyme schemes and monosyllabic words. Favorite tracks: Airplanes (the one without Eminem), Letters from Vietnam, Past My Shades
6. "Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr Rager" by Kid Cudi
Kid Cudi is not for everyone, I realize this. But for where I'm at in my musical tastes, he brings enough to the table for me to ignore what is left off. Catchy melodies and crunchy back beats serve as a perfect backdrop for his emo stoner brand of hipster hop. Favorite tracks: Ashin Kusher, All Along, Please Don't Play This Song
5. "Southern Gothic" by The Constellations
This one is cheating a bit because it's been released on the streets of Atlanta for over two years now, but since Virgin Records picked it up and is marketing it as new, it goes here. Awesome blend of party rap and 60's inspired pop/funk, complete with a trio of clapping backup singers. Check out this band before they blow, and if you have a chance to see them live, do it. Favorite tracks: Felicia, On My Way Up, Let's Take a Ride
4. "Mood Muzik 4" by Joe Budden
Lyrically, Joey has arguably never been better. Mentally, this is certainly true. Long known for a questionable ear for beats and an even worse outlook on life, both improved quite a bit for this projoect. Lots of ill beats and a less-depressed Joe makes for a strange addition to his discography, but one that this ultimately embraced whole-heartedly by this Budden fan. Favorite tracks: Sober Up, Black Cloud, Inseparable
3. "Volume 2" by She and Him
I love every single song on this album. Such a relaxing collection of sweet harmonies. There was a stretch where this was the only album I was listening to. I'm a hip-hop guy right now, but in my heart of hearts I'll always be an old school rhythm and blues guy. Zooey and M. Ward's retro stylings fall right in line with my favorite 60s and 70s crooners. Favorite Tracks: 'Home' and 'Sweet Darling'
2. "Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty" by Big Boi
Surprised the hell out of me. Multiple infectious songs, and proof that Daddy Fat Sacks still has it. Production was on point and there were several nice guest spots. Favorite tracks: Fo Yo Sorrows, Be Still, Shine Blockas

Album of the fuckin' year. Probably the best hip-hop album since Ye's Late Registration. Replay value, production quality, catchy songs that are fun to sing to, awesome lyricism, weighty guest appearances (see what I did there? 'Twas a Rick Ross joke ladies and gents...) and a completely different sound than anything else out right now. Disgustingly good. Favorite tracks: Dark Fantasy, Runaway, Monster, All of the Lights
