Anybody else just see that accident between the Risi Ferrari and the Gainsco DP? That was a massive impact.

Prototypes seem to be dropping like flies. 13+ hours to go and only 7 of 18 have a realistic shot. And who would have thought at this point we'd see 3 GTLM cars in the top 10 overall? Quite an interesting race so far.

Jesus H. Christ. Horrible, just horrible.

Both drivers were awake and alert (Gidley was not seen by infield care center). Early reports are that Gidley was full throttle - near top speed (whatever that would be). Possible that the sun affected Gidley's vision. Gidley was cut from his vehicle unlike Malucelli.
