i got dirty tricks, but i can only use it if i have a sword type weapon equipped...which i never do so i never get to use it. it wont work with the staff

fusion is very helpful for me. I have a hat, robe, boots, staff, 4 rings, a necklace, dagger.
Most have 2 slots now so thats about 18 total slots for stones. 18 may seem like alot, but when you figure i have 10 stones that are un-used because i only have 18 slots....thats why fusion is important

there is one thing that pisses me off though. you cant fuse different levels of stones. Like u cant fuse a level 1 weight with a level 3 weight. They must be identical stones and levels or it wont fuse.

your playing a melee guy right? if so, breaking down and crafting will be nice for you because u have more resources to do upgrades. Mages are not as lucky.

One thing you want to work on is you metalergy which will unlock the skill next to it. Those will allow you to upgrade your weapons in the crafting screen. Fusion skill is also something you want to improve. This allows you to take identical stones that you find and fuse them into a better spell. For example, 2 +10 weight stones will get u 1 +20 stone.....with the limited number of slots for stones, this is crucial so you can use more stones. Upgrading will add more slots to your gear.

my carry is like 380 because i fused stones and have a bunch of +30 weight stones.

I also try to sell as much as i can rather than breaking it down. your gonna need alot of money to buy skill books. My best vendor sells them at 9000. Find a good vendor. I am lucky enough to have the mages guild and they sell shit for mages, and they have the best prices for me. I have not come across an area for warrior/archer types like the mages guild where you have 5 shopkeepers that all cater to mages

sidenote. I got the archmage necro staff like i was looking for earlier....that thing looks like shit comapred to the senior version. Archmage staffs are the best and senior is 3rd best. I guess i wont be using that staff. The fire, water, earth and air all look awesome, but the fire and water are the only ones i can get to light up/glow

So they need to be the same stone - Accuarcy 2 and Accuarcy 2, or can it be Accuarcy 1 and an Accuarcy 2? how do you do this I couldnt find it last night. I was trying but couldnt seem to do it. I know I was using different stones so that was part of it.

yes...exactly the same. in your inventory where the stones are...just highlight the spell and the Y option for FUSE will be there if it can be fused. u will also see the little Anvil icon too.

there are these green stones with a red color in the middle. i had identical ones that would not fuse. i dont know why, i assume they are a special stone. I also had a 50 weight stone that i couldnt add to any of my gear. not sure if it was my level not being high enough or what

sidenote....i got a black mages robe. as im sure u know, the paint colors for your clothes does not include the color black. Its a kick ass looking robe....only problem is i dont have a black hat

Glad your problem is only a black hat. My dumb ass last night went into some cave with three giant Scorpions. I hammered two of them but I should have went back to Alimas and returned the roots so i can learn alchemy.

after about 50 hours of gameplay i am done with chapter 1 and finally able to get off the savannah island and move on to the next island. The next one isnt quite as big.

Although there is another one thats about 3 times the size of the savannah island

saw this game used for $50 at gamestop. Too bad I am totally engrossed in DA....I am finally getting a hang of everything but realized I have a long way to go in the game.

I noticed they really dont tell you what to do. it is pretty much up to you to decide how you want to attack the story. Kind of new concept for me as I am used to playing game that pretty much keep you going in one direction.

I really only find about an hour or two a night to play and the time flies. Im only on the starvation quest.

here is a major fucking let down..remember that 3rd island i said was 3 times the size of the savannah?

I do not know, what disapointment comes up here. We said and say that the play time is 25-35 hours - if the game is played straight and if someone plays all side quests, he can also play much longer. Eikronas is mainly used for Multiplayer. What is the problem with this? Where should the MP campaign take place? under the sea?

so this means that a game that was once thought to be so huge is now offering me a major let down

I was intrigued with this game after seeing this thread and then went and googled it.

Does this game have a similar game engine as Oblivion, and Fallout 3?

3D, realtime, open world, etc.

It looks like it, but I'd like to hear from someone that has played all of them.

alot of people compare it to oblivion not only because of the way u play it (open world etc) but because of the timeframe in which its played.

but its open world and real time. not sure what u mean by 3D

i finally got to buy a sailboat last night. its pretty cool and realistic. if the wind is in your face you arent going anywhere. I got off course and ended up trying to sail into the wind. it wasnt happening and i had to turn around towards a small beach area.

So i setup my tornado and water walking spells. used the tornado to carry the boat and used water walk to run back to the area i needed to be in

Only at a level 12 but I did the Initiation Run last night and am about to get on my horse and do the run so I should wrap that up tonight. I decided to stop killing ever animal in site and just move on with the game. I'll still kill those fucking Giant Ants though.

the animals are never ending. they will always be back in the area when you go back. they are good for leveling up early on in the game. after awhile they are more of an annoyance.

i remember that quest. i think that was the last time i ever rode a horse. i would rather just run. horse riding is more of a hassle and its not faster than running. plus with all the teleports u use and the horse cant go thru them.

finally got into Hatmandor after doing all those side quests. really movin now.

One question: I played my first online game Friday night and I kept getting points and really didnt do anything. I went into my game and had all these points to level up. Are they from that online play

your online character is separate from your offline. u earn XP online just like u do offline and use them to level up the same way
