Lol @ all this shit about Anderson getting his ass kicked all fight.. Anderson was being HELD DOWN all fight, and Chael was doing a good job of staying active.. but I dont think Anderson was ever hurt in that fight at all. It was baffling to me how unactive Anderson was on the bottom until he really had to be.. that much ill never really understand. Not to discredit Chael... he fought his fight and he was doing an outstanding job.. but he was CONSTANTLY leaving himself open for a sub and only in the 5th did Anderson really explore that opportunity.

I think you are misunderstanding "getting his azz kicked" with being absolutely dominated in the fight...to which, he was.

As for Silva not going for a sub until the 5th, that is a lie. He went for quite a few over 5 rounds.

Barely. Anderson was very, VERY unactive from the bottom till desperation kicked in. I dont even recall a real attempt at a sub till he went for the Americana. To say the least, Anderson could've been a lot more active in his BJJ from the bottom, especially with as much as Sonnen was leaving his arm available for Anderson.

I have a theory on the fix once again being on but I think ill keep that to myself. Its just written so nicely.. :shifty:

I don't care if you bleed or not. Anderson was rocked numerous times.

It took him till the 4th round to even make Chael look like he was in a fight. (besides fatigue of course...) Well placed elbow, but did it really effect the fight? Doubt it.

I'm a huge Anderson Silva fan and even I can admit that Chael beat that ass.

However!

Silva is the better fighter, even if he caught a ass woopin for 20+ minutes.

Am I the only one annoyed at Rosenthal letting Sonnen squat and tippy tap strike for the last 2 rounds ?
At least 3 different times I saw enough inactivity to force them to stand up. Im tired of guys being able to sit in guard for 5 minutes and land cotton balls. Lord knows how boring things will get when Shields starts fighting.

You can't look at facial damage to see you 'got there asswhipped'

Some guys don't show visable damge, Silva is one of them, BJ is another, on the flip side some guys look busted up from minor shots or cut easy, Nick Diaz is one of them

It's just how some guys are, Silva got rocked a couple times, he never gets rocked and Chael put some hard shots on him, you can't judge fights by facial damage

There was definitely times where everyone I was watching the fight with was screaming for them to stand them up. Ill give it to Chael tho.. he continuously stayed active enough that I didnt have any problem with Rosenthal not standing them up.

It wasn't just Sonnen getting each round. One judge gave him a 10-8 round and another gave him two 10-8 rounds. That is dominance.

As it relates to Anderson's subs attempted as I was saying earlier, compustrike officially had it at 2 Subs attempted (The Americana and the finish obviously). Just to further show how brutally inactive Anderson was from the bottom..

Yes, I will concede Chael beat Anderson's ass for four rounds. There's no debating that, I watched the fight.

But Anderson came out on top.

The whole "didn't bleed" thing really has no purpose in this debate, I just thought it was sort of funny that he took so many hits without so much as a small gash opening up.
