Very interesting, eclectic night of fights.
-Damn, Tito brought it. The fact he was able to rock Bader surprised the hell out of me and Ryan just fell apart after that. After realizing it had been so long since he had a win, jesus, imagine the feelings coursing through Tito's mind. His next fight will be huge off this although I'm not sure who they will match him up with. Don't want to see another Griffin fight (if he loses to Shogun). That's for damn sure.
-Sucks Aussie George's been solved. Dude's chin is his weak link.
-Guillard looks good but still not sure how he can match-up with the likes of Edgar, Maynard, Melendez, Miller, etc. A fight I'd really like to see is Guillard/Ben Henderson (whether he wins or loses against Miller next month).
-CONDIT! Sick flying knee and the talk of him as a title contender...why not? It isn't like there are other serious candidates after the Diaz fight. Doubt he can muster up much of anything against GSP tho.
-What does the loss tonight say about Michael Bisping's power (or lack thereof) lol. Leben hits like a truck and landed some big shots. IMO, his next fight (if he wants to wait) should be against Mayhem or Bisping (the loser since I assume the winner gets And1).
-Weird main event scoring...how could you see all five rounds for Cruz? He won, no doubt. Some of the rounds were close but I had it 48-47 for Cruz. Some of those rounds, Faber couldn't muster much up. It was hilarious that the majority of takedowns from either guy didn't lead to much since both were able to bounce right back up. Faber landed more power shots but Cruz landed more shots overall. He definitely did not do enough to win the belt.
Sucks for Faber, but it's not a terrible performance and it won't knock him back too far. Assuming Bowles' hand is broken again (sucks for that dude), I'll assume we will see Cruz vs. Demetrius Johnson whenever his leg heals up.
What does Benavidez have to do to get a third crack at Cruz btw?
