I had it a draw, too.

Round 1 for Hendo, 10-9
Round 2 for Hendo, 10-9
Round 3 for Hendo, 10-9
Round 4 for Shogun, 10-9
Round 5 for Shogun, 10-8

Surprised none of the judges gave him a 10-8. Hendo literally did nothing in the 5th while Shogun was able to mount him 5 times and do some damage.

It's no crime or anything, still one of the best fights ever, just surprised.

Rarely ever watch these events but for some reason i watched last night. I thought the Silva vs Le fight was great. Le's nose got fucked up. But the Shogun vs Henderson fight was probably the best fight i've ever seen. I'll probably watch the next one.

Thats what I said soon as I saw it.


I ruined this M.E for myself. Waited a week because a friend was sick but wanted to see it. Literally an hour before I accidentally see a tweet with result =-( took all tension out of it.
Still a hell of a fight I would imaging Ida gone nuts if I watched it live.

btw is it me or is Hendo faster at 205/41 than he is at 185/30s ?

Silva/Le was such a fun fight to watch.

I have been saying it for a while, Dan is much better at 205 than 185 and it shows

Maybe his speed isnt better, but as time goes on your technique gets better and maybe it makes him 'quicker', shogun 'should be' able to pick Dan a part standing, but that didnt happen

Shows what Fedor can really do with his speed and talent when standing, to bad he doesnt care about fighting or improving his game, maybe with his last win he showed he can be patient, but Monson isnt a good gauge for anything standing

Yes you have.

His technique in the standup does seem tighter. I really thought itd be Hbomb or pick apart. The exchanges really surprised me. Its sooo cliche but "getting better with age" applied to Hendo as much as anyone Ive seen in a long time.

I may not know enough about the scoring of rounds but I watched this fight yesterday and I don't get how Henderson got 9 points in the 5th. To me thats like saying his performance in the 5th was equivalent to Shogun's in the first 3 when clearly it wasn't.

Judges are skerd of 10-8 rounds.

Why though? If that fight was ruled a draw nobody would've been all that upset. I just don't get how they can say Henderson's effort in the 5th was equal to Shogun's in the first three.

judges are scared of the 10-8 round, but 10-8 rounds are not based on what happened the other rounds, cases can be made that round 3 was 10-8 for Hendo also
