UFC on FOX 2: Evans vs. Davis (1/28 on FOX)

Well, UFC can't win on Fox. Either the fight lasts 60 seconds or they go the full amount and aren't exciting at all.
Shocked the hell outta me was the Bisping/Sonnen decision. I saw it as Bisping 29-28 with Sonnen taking the third round. How one judge saw it 30-27 is ludicrous. Bisping fought a great fight, was able to take it to Bisping standing, defend some takedowns and actually control the clinch. Sucks for him, but at least we'll see Silva/Sonnen in Brazil.
Phil Davis had a letdown, not able to do much of anything. His wrestling was ineffective throughout and Rashad was clearly the better fighter tonight. Jon Jones being his :smug: self was funny.
Will be interesting to see how the rating is since none of the fights were really exciting but they all went the distance. They even went about 10 minutes past the top of the hour so they should get something of a bump then.

The best in the world fight three times per year in the octagon. Duh. Lavar was a lowly SF heavyweight.
I thought it was funny when Rogan went on his lame "octagon jitters" rant, babbling on and on about Lavar "fighting on the big stage" for the first time.
Um, that Beltran fight was a second from the bottom prelim with about 3,000 people in the building, and about 70,000 people (if that) watching Fuel.
Lavar Johnson has fought on main cards underneath Fedor in packed houses, with like ten times more people watching on TV.
FOX easily cruised to victory in adults 18-49 with two hours of UFC on FOX 2 with a fight card headlined by Evans vs. Davis. Again, these numbers are far more likely to be adjusted (and adjusted up) than normal due to the nature of live programming. But in the preliminary non time zone adjusted numbers the fight card averaged a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating between 8-10p and 4.37 million viewers.

It's weird because in general, you want these UFC on Fox shows to promote a PPV. The first one didn't since the big fight was being offered for free. Clearly, the buyrates after November don't offer any evidence that "new" fans bought PPVs.
With this show, they were also able to promote a PPV that's one week later. Like 139, Diaz vs. Condit is not moving the needle for casuals. So, if 143 does anything over 300,000....what can we attribute it to? Diaz? A bump from Fox...a small bump?
The Fox show was about setting up Silva/Sonnen and Bones/Rashad but by the time those fights go down....no one will remember this show...or even the Fox show next month for that matter.
If by 2013, they're still barely doing 300k for PPVs with no big stars and Fox is doing alright but nothing special....certainly not a good thing.

The show ran late, so it will get an artificial bump from all of the old people who turned on FOX to watch the local news on the east coast at 10pm.
FOX doesn't want them going over, because the local affiliates get pissed off due to the news viewers switching to another channel instead of waiting out the fight to end. Another reason to book finishers and three rounders.

Rashad couldnt finish a guy who just looked akward and wasnt ready for this type of fight, looks like nothing 'good' came of this show, they got equal or better ratings with Spike fans watching Hendo/Rampage and Tito/Ken, who are they atracting with this shows?
The booking has been down right brutal also for these FOX shows, Bendo vs Guida not shown the first time and these 3 fights, bad decisions all around
