UGA to start out 2011 0-1

Georgia and Boise State will meet in the 2011 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome, it will be announced on a 5 p.m. conference call today.

Boise State is undefeated this season (9-0) and ranked No. 3 in this week’s Associated Press poll.

I don't know, Boise is losing a lot of their talent this year and you guys give them a lot of credit. It should be a good game, but I think Boise will win after all. Georgia hasn't had too great of a recruiting class the past few years and I don't even know who is going to be good lol.

My problem is if Boise wins they will start saying they can handle SEC teams. They pick a middle of the pack SEC team instead of a top team to boost their weak ass schedule. Week one game of the week will still be Oregon v LSU in Jerry World

I remember when Boise traveled to Athens in '05 or '06 and got trounced. I think Georgia will be able to play with them, but will ultimately crumble off of some stupid shit.

In other opening weekend news, LSU and Oregon will play at Jerry World in Dallas. Could be the best non-conference game of the season.

I highly doubt they 'picked' this team. If anything, this is a step up for the SEC. Instead of playing a shitty ACC team, they get Boise.

I'm sure if Boise could get a mil to come play Auburn, Bama, Florida or LSU they would do it in a heartbeat

Bama already has Penn St scheduled

LSU has Oregon scheduled

Florida only plays local blind schools OOC

They had Ole Miss scheduled but changed it to Georgia which is probably a step up.

This is the Chick-Fil-A Season opener, and the first time a non-ACC opponent has been scheduled. Boise v Georgia when they played previously is not the same Boise that is #3 BCS. I have to think there is a reason neither Georgia nor MSU is giving a return game?

Yeah, but they were still playing FSU every year, and FSU was a top 5 team for 20 straight seasons.

Not to mention the odd game against Miami. Yes, it's pathetic, but at least you can not leave the state and still end up playing some decent comp.

Yeah I'm sure Alabama and Auburn and Florida were just chomping at the bit to risk a loss to Boise State in the opening game of the year.

No big school wants to play these guys early because the system is so broken that a loss early in the year basically puts them behind the 8-ball in terms of the championship chase. While for a Georgia type squad that won't be in the National Title discussion.. this could spring board them into the early discussion with a win.

Boise has a lot more to lose here than Georgia.

Boise has aggressively scheduled big games, to the point they are willing to play these fake "neutral" site games (with no return date) to get it done. "Oh, its only Georgia. Play Florida, you pussies!".

They dump traditional rival Idaho so they can add a better non conf game: "practice what you preach, pussies!".

They move up to a better league: "Big deal, still not a BCS league, pussies!"

Boise continues to do the right thing. Good for them.
