Naughty Dog “surprised no one has found the secrets we’ve dropped around the internet

Found something unrelated to this probably but quite interesting. This post says that there is a gaming event called Game Connection which is in San Francisco and the building it's being held in is none other than the "Sir Francis Drake Hotel"......hmmmm interesting may just be a coincidence......BUT then someone found out that naughty Dog will actually be there as an attendee. Hmmm......maybe not so much a coincidence anymore than it could actually be a "thing". Now, I know many of you think it's Doom or Batman, but when OPM or whatever the magazine is called, said a franchise was FINALLY coming to PS4 maybe it could be Uncharted. It would make sense with this event because the magazine is supposedley coming out on March 17th and the even goes from the 17th-19th of March. Could just be speculation but it could also be a piece in something more.

Uncharted PS4 Writer Amy Hennig Leaves Naughty Dog
Writer and Director departs the studio after 10 years

UPDATE: Sony has verified to IGN that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. "We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."

Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer on the Uncharted series, has left developer Naughty Dog.

Numerous trusted sources close to Naughty Dog have verified Hennig’s departure from the studio. She was writing and leading development of Uncharted PS4. Her final day at the studio was Monday, March 3.

Sources claim Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, and explained that Uncharted may now come under their control.

Hennig recently celebrated her 10th anniversary with Naughty Dog, where she served as director and writer on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Her work was recently profiled in IGN’s The History of Naughty Dog.

We’ve contacted both Sony and Naughty Dog for comment and will keep you up to date with any developments.

Uncharted 4 Game Director Justin Richmond Leaves Naughty Dog
Justin Richmond, who was working on Uncharted PS4 as game director, has left developer Naughty Dog.

"I have in fact made the decision to leave Naughty Dog," Richmond told IGN. "I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can't wait to be a part of."

Previously, Richmond oversaw Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' multiplayer and worked as game director on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. He had been with Naughty Dog since 2008.

This however, is super weird. I'll be curious to hear about the actual game now that the director has abruptly left. I hope this doesn't end with horror stories like the Bioshock Infinite development process did, or be because of some rift developing with Sony.

That's the thing. Acoording to IGN we have these two key people leaving ND, tons of people getting laid off at Evolution (Drive Club), Guerilla (Killzone) and The Playroom (does anyone care?), and apparently a project Sony Santa Monica was working on has been canceled.

Killzone is understandable becauuse tons of people normally get the boot once a game is finished. Playroom people? Also, nothing to be alarmed about. Evolution? With a major game in development, with rumors of them "starting from scratch"? Now that is a major issue. And now this Naughty Dog stuff?

That would make sense considering how popular Uncharted is. Plus I'm pretty sure ND wants/wanted TLoU to be a one off game. So you could easily see them wanting to start something new.

Although I don't know if I could ever get enough Uncharted. I still remember when the demo for the first game released. I was absolutely amazed.

Uncharted 4 lost its writer, its director, and now the actor behind its vengeful narrator

Writer/actor Todd Stashwick will no longer appear in Uncharted 4 despite voicing what was the game's only confirmed character.

Stashwick told IGN in a report published Monday that Sony "chose to recast my role." He was the voice of the unidentified narrator who swore to take revenge for being "lost for 15 years" and left "rotting in a hell hole" in the game's reveal trailer, which was published in November.

Amy Hennig revealed on April 11 that her friend Stashwick would join her as a co-writer on EA Visceral's unannounced Star Wars project. Stashwick is perhaps best known portraying Dale Malloy on The Riches.

"Todd Stashwick is a huge gamer, knows Star Wars inside-out and sideways, and is a brilliant writer to boot," Hennig said. "How lucky am I?"

Uncharted series director Amy Hennig left the studio in early March. She had worked at Naughty Dog since the days of Jak & Daxter, though she was quickly hired up by EA Visceral to lead work on its unannounced Star Wars project.

Later in March, Uncharted PS4 game director Justin Richmond left Naughty Dog after six years. He took a position at League of Legends developer Riot Games.

The exodus of talent may indicate a change in direction for the next Uncharted, though Sony has said its development timeline "will not be impacted" by Hennig and Richmond's departure.
