Latest from Andy Martino is the return the Mets are looking for in a potential trade is pretty big. Either "a few high end prospects" or big leaguers, most likely OF and/or a catcher. There's doubt whether anyone would be willing to proactively contact them and offer such a substantial deal.

So, they're still negotiating with Dickey who allegedly is willing to offer a 2-year deal worth something less than what Peavey signed ($29M over 2).

Now, my guess is they don't trade him and work something out by the end of the year.

GM Meetings are during the first week of December.

My gut tells me they won't get a big enough offer and will end up resigning him. My gut also tells me he'll be a long relief/inning eating specialist in 3 years. Still an asset, though.

A few high end prospects? I would barely consider trading one for Dickey based on age alone.
