Who crowned England as champs before it started? And our group was shitty lol, we just happened to play as shitty. The expectations are always high because it is our #1 sport. I guess you guys can take something from the world cup, you know when you set the bar so fucking low that it's nearly impossible to not fail.

I think i'd be more embarrassed by this than I was the 4-1 defeat to Germany. At least we don't sugarcoat shit and try to call it something other than shit

Ghana rank - 32nd

USA go into the game favored by a decent margin but yet still somehow USA fans claim they didn't fail badly either.

England's fail was obviously bigger because we have a better team (although we did lose to the possible world cup champs instead of an average Ghana side). My only point was that fans of below par (on this tourneys evidence) teams have no room to be laughing at other below par teams.

I can fully accept England failed, we will have to agree to disagree on whether USA failed or not.

No shit Sherlock. Over here in the US, we commonly refer to people from England as Brits. I didn't say that Germany just scored again on the UK, which is how we think of Greater Britannia. Since we are splitting hairs, everyone in the U.S. doesn't like to be called a yank. Here's a map for you showing the Mason-Dixon line (runs along the bottom of the shaded states). Anybody south of it is not a yankee.

Losing to Ghana in the round of 16 was less embarrassing than England coming in 2nd to the US in "Group C" and then getting punted out before the quarter-finals.
