sidenote: MN was loosely sim. dudes would pull out some cheddar a lot more often then MN or ppl apart of that forum used to admit

MN never claimed to be sim though, it was just a madden community. I remember one of the first times i visited there i asked if there were any gameplay rules the guys around there followed and Rac responded with something like "we dont put limits or labels on our players" That was very loosely parphrased of course. I played in leagues at MN that were every bit as sim as any i played in at MM though.

What exactly is a Rocket Catch (I assume it's some sort of jump catch) and how do you do it? I gave up on '08 and '09 early so I never really faced this.

yeah and thats not gonna happen this year in 09, its a lot tougher to do.

hell, a lot of user catches are hard to do with the camera so far, and the god damn over the shoulder catches which you get the animation so much

I didn't need RC last year to user catch and I'm sure a bunch of other guys didn't either. You choose to use an exploit to play a football video game. So now feel the wrath of the sim community.

I never needed RC either in 09. I dont know how JJ HAD to do it. You make it seem like you were pressured to do it.

User catching on PS2 was perfect I think...I can't recall anyone exploiting anything. It was just raw user catching.

guy that would zig zag on deep balls, throw it short then bump the db and make the strafe grab. it wasnt a matter of having good user skills, just knowing that the ai or a user controled saftey could never get there cuz the game was flawed.

He might be talking about the strafe catch? I'm talking about the one Korn was a beast at... but that definitely wasn't cheese; only, like others have said, raw user skills. It could be defended if the defender was good with their safety.

I don't feel like we've had that control ever since the days of ps2, though this demo is a step up from any other next gen game so far.

Korn was all about the strafe catch.
