Vikings to sign Javon Walker

The Moss to Walker comparison is a horrible one. Last year Walker saw the field for a whopping 17 plays. Walker played bad in 2008 with 15 catches while on the field for 180 pass plays in total. Thats 1 catch every 12 pass plays. I don't care if Russell is playing quarterback, thats really bad. He also has started a grand total of 12 games in the past three years.

Moss was one of the best receivers if not the best when he went to Oakland. Walker was nothing near what Moss ever was. He never had ANYTHING NEAR the physical tools or talent Moss has or had. It's obvious that he was never the same player after he blew out his knee. Even his years at Denver weren't very good. Adding Walker just adds an injury prone nutcase with a ton of baggage to the Vikings locker room.

And I'm saying that the circumstances were not even close to same so the comparison is just plain stupid.

Brady was a 6th round pick coming into the NFL and became great so maybe Colt Brennan can do the same.

Five players were not registered with a single drop, including Greg Camarillo (73 targets), Robert Meachem (66), Pierre Thomas (45), Brian Westbrook (34), and Delanie Walker (33). T.J. Houshmandzadeh only dropped two passes on 140 targets, which seems like a function of his usage pattern, but it's hard to reconcile that logic when Lee Evans only dropped one of the 95 targets thrown to him.
Finally, the two-year totals (minimum: 30 targets in each season). The "best hands" group would have made for a hell of an offense in their respective peaks, with Brian Westbrook (0.9 percent Drop Rate) at halfback, Sidney Rice (1.3 percent) and Lee Evans (1.5 percent) at wideout, and Tony Gonzalez (1.7 percent) catching whatever's left at tight end.

NFL Network's Michael Lombardi believes Javon Walker has no chance of helping the Vikings this year.
Walker had "no explosion in his lower body before he signed the big contract with the Oakland Raiders, and that was three years ago," explains Lombardi. It's hard to muster up a contrary opinion here. Walker hasn't been a factor on the field in four years, and his legs simply aren't the same. We remain skeptical that he'll even make the team.
