the PCI missed. the bat didnt. even on replay it looked like he made perfect contact. i dont understand why guys are looking at one or 2 things instead of the overall picture. a 2 run home run in a game where i had 16 hits and 10 runs is nothing. what about the other 8 runs and 15 hits?

u do understand why u lost? it has nothing to do with vet hitting. its bad play...period

i cant even make a fair assessment of the level because i have not had anyone challenge me on these settings. even the 5 run inning u had was a fluke. i took my starter out who was dominating and went to 99% fastballs.

making excuses is annoying. at one point in the 5th u took 8 balls out of 60 total pitches. and u would think after your starter gives up 6 in the 1st u might at least get someone up

Anyone that was ok with Allstar will tell you that there is a speed difference on Vet. You play primarily on vet hitting, and the only games that I have played on vet were against you. You are going to win those games unless I stop playing on allstar in all of my other games, and Im ok with that. Once we get league settings decided on, thats what Ill play on.

You can say whatever you want about my bad play, and the fact that I left Porcello in after he gave up 6 runs. He settled down and held you scoreless for the rest of the time he was in. It was a gamble that worked out for me. It was Zumaya that killed me. I wish I had stuck with Porcello longer if anything. Im assuming you dont know much about the Tigers, but I can tell you middle relief is not their strong point. I wanted to stay away from putting Schlereth in if I could. Also I want to point out that I struck out 15 times, you struck out 14 times. So I guess I wasnt much worse than you at taking pitches eh?

It was a 2 Run HR that you didnt make contact on in a tie game. Dont flatter yourself into thinking that you had that game in the bag before that. BTW, if 'making excuses' was my goal, i would have commented on the lag. Im sure you noticed the fielding issues i was having due to input lag.

Just because I dont like these settings does not mean Im 'making excuses'. Im here to give my input, stop whining just because we disagree. :smh:

offline doesnt need vet hitting. online has something going on that isnt right

Yea, anything online for the ps3 is going to have its flaws.

I hardly ever play offline so I just threw it on those settings to see how things went...i'll bump it to AS and post results soon.

hopefully I will be on tonight(after midnight EST) for a game with one of you bastids

I wish I could play more. I just got a new job in the city and have been looking at mad apartments and trying to get stuff moved out of old place. Whenever I play its against the CPU and I am still striking out a tonne.

the reason i am defending the level is because you and pepper made a point to say stuff about the setup that isnt accurate. the simple fact is that u didnt pitch well, and u didnt hit well. But instead of saying that u got beat, u make claims about the level of hitting being vet that are inaccurate...people are gonna read that shit and it could influence their opinion.

let me give u a reality check. after i went up 6-0 in the 1st, i stopped trying to get hits. did u notice me waiting until 2 strikes to swing the bat? i decided i would practice my 2 strike swinging. i also worked on my pitching. after i realized you had no chance at making it a challenge, i went to my fastball almost exclusively and pounded the strike zone....u still couldnt hit so i took out my starter after just 60 pitches and 5 innings. you were able to time my RP fastballs and got 5 runs....its easy to time things when its all fastballs in the K zone. eventually u got ahold of a 3 run homer. yeah...tie game. but i guess u didnt notice how i was just throwing fastballs in the zone

what happened next? i immediately turned it on and took a 8-6 lead and went back to mixing up pitches and won 10-6. did u notice u didnt threaten at the plate after u got 6 runs?

the HR burrell hit was in the lower left corner of the upper right zone of the K zone. i hit for power and was late which caused it to go opposite field. i missed on the PCI, but only by a zone....so what. the PCI shows the sweet spot. u know in baseball, guys with pussy power have been able to hit HR's off the weak part of the bat before. it kind of happens alot actually

i played 4 games on vet hitting and 5 on AS...so dont act like i play vet all the time because thats not the case. Last AS hitting game i played i won 8-1 against townie and we all know how good he is.

the difference between vet and AS hitting is the PCI being bigger and it closes the gap between the fastball and off speed differential. which cuts down on the strike outs.

i especially find it funny that you act like it would have been another story if we used AS hitting instead of vet. you telling me it would have been easier for you with AS hitting? you realize that vet is a lower level that AS right? if you cant handle vet whats makes u think u can handle AS?

Do you not realize that I am early on so many pitches when playing you? Because the pitches come in faster on All Star. Of course you 'let me' score, thats about what I expect from you. You can talk all you want, but nothing I said was false. There is no way you should hit a HR on a ball that you are NOT SWINGING AT. Vet hitting pretty much makes zone pointless.

Everyone play a game, do not aim your swings. Leave the PCI right in the middle and time your swings. You will be able to hit the ball without aiming to the zone it is in. Just like in 09.

Blabber all you want Maynard, but people can decide on their own. You dont need to be the White Knight for Vet hitting. When people start to realize how little zone hitting matters on vet, they can decide for themselves what they want.

Do you even bother reading posts? I admitted that when I had that 5 run inning, i stopped aiming for pitches. Also, you had 1 less strikeout than I did. Not like it was some night and day shit. But I guess thats because you meant to strike out right? If you are as good as you think you are, you shouldnt be crying about playing on All Star. Im down for whatever, but Im not going to sit back and not voice my opinion on the topic just because you say its best. Be as defensive as you want to be, tell me I suck at the game, I dont really care. It doesnt change anything.

i get a bit mad when people dont at least give me a little credit for beating them. but its not about who is better. i know your a good player. im not saying u suck or any of that. im saying u played bad in this game. the other game u said the ball was dissapearing so that doesnt count.

so your basing things off of 1 ass whipping. and be real dude. u got your ass kicked and even played like u were getting your ass kicked. im sure u were shocked to have gotten back into that game. after the 6 runs u played like a person who was frustrated

give it a fair shot before u shoot it down...thats all im saying

im also fine with playing on AS. but i think kg will use sliders on AS and im not feeling that at all. that why i want vet hitting to get a real shot.

personally i think default AS will be fine. but everyone is complaining about it and its gonna hurt the league if nobody likes it

nobody except for wtb and the 3 guys i played are even giving it a look....but then again nobody is even playing the game online...or off for that matter
