I hope he stays in Cleveland for 2 reasons. One, so I can laugh at all these NBA teams who cleared this cap space and didn't get him or hopefully any other guys. Two, in the long run LeBron winning a title in Cleveland would be more meaningful than on other team.
This.
Say what you will about restoring glory to New York/Jersey or even Chicago, Cleveland is where he's from and where he started his NBA career. If he leaves and wins somewhere else, someone's always gonna call him a quitter.
And - this is very debatable - but I don't think Chicago needs him to win a championship. Maybe immediately, but I think they have the pieces to get there in a few years.
And if he goes to Miami, he's gonna look like he was - to some extent - riding Dwayne's coattails. Not much, but it's a discussable problem.
If he goes to New York OR New Jersey/Brooklyn, it's pretty obviously going to be his team, but I don't even really find those conceivable because:
1 - He might actually have
less to work with either of those teams.
2 - I know New York
really wants him, but besides Jigga, I haven't heard
too much out of the Brooklyn camp. Of course, everybody wants him, but I don't think Prokhorov is as pre-occupied with the acquisition of LeBron as everyone else.
The more I think about it, the more him staying in Cleveland seems to make sense.
Edit: In New York, he'd get Amar'e, but has Amar'e been that big of a deal as of late?
