This week's slate of college games are absolute garbage. But next week we get Arkansas-LSU and the week after its Oklahoma St-Oklahoma. Right now its looking like LSU v. Oklahoma St. in the national title game, but I would guess that Oklahoma St. is going to lose to Oklahoma, so then we'd get LSU in the title game playing a 1-loss team (possibly a rematch against Bama or Oregon).

But what happens if both Oklahoma State and LSU lose in the upcoming weeks? Here are some thoughts:

*Does Arkansas at #6 vault to #1 for defeating LSU at Baton Rouge?
*Does Oklahoma climb to one of the top two spots, even though they have the worst loss (Texas Tech) of any 1-loss team?
*How far do LSU and Okie State drop for losing to quality opponents?
*Do Oregon and Bama end up above LSU, even though they both lost to LSU (and Oregon got pummelled)?
*Does Boise State ever re-enter the discussion?
*Does a 1-loss ACC champ (Clemson or V-Tech) get a spot in the national title game?
*Does an undefeated Houston enter the picture?

It's the age old problem of not if you lose, but when you lose in the BCS. Oregon and Bama are sitting pretty if either top team manages to drop.

Of course not, because Boise totally sucks now because they lost, and it doesn't matter that Houston scores 70 points every week because they're not part of the CARTEL.

Houston will learn the hard way that unless you are one of about 40 teams, you are playing exhibition games all year.

Can't wait to see a team that LSU already beat get another crack at them, instead of some fresh blood. It's not like Boise & Houston don't play an exciting brand of football, or anything.

I brought this up to NAHSTE in the chatbox last night. If Arkansas were to beat LSU, then you have to exact same scenario in the SEC West that took place in the Big 12 South in 2008, when Texas beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma beat Texas Tech, and Texas Tech. Obviously, Oklahoma ended up as the big winner in this instance. I'm not sure of the rules in the SEC that would determine the division winner, but I feel like Alabama would be put in the NC because their LSU loss was very close and they beat Arkansas fairly easily. They would end up playing Oregon or Oklahoma, although it wouldn't surprise me if the computers put LSU in there.

I don't want to think about these scenarios for a multitude of reasons. LSU losing would not only break my heart and make me cry it would break college football.

If they win out...including C-USA championship game and are #12 or higher in BCS...they are guaranteed a spot in a BCS bowl.

Houston might not even finish undefeated anyway. An SMU team who beat TCU and @ Tulsa are easily the two toughest games on their schedule.

Southern Miss is the toughest. I don't see them winning that game. That's assuiming they play in the C-USA Championship game.

I stand by what I said. They are playing a a full schedule of exhibition games.

They are worthy of being national champions if they win every game and beat LSU, or even better, win a playoff. But they will never get the chance in this lovely system THE CARTEL has set up.

I wish there was someone on here who defends the BCS for me to argue with, all these scenarios are why college football is a joke. I just watch the games and dont even worry about all this.
