The run defense is our strength, especially with how we shut down running games in the pre-season. (inb4it'sonlypre-season) However, that was with Gerald McRath, who's suspended for 4 games, so there'll be a weakness there, but I think we'll be fine. The defensive line will be in the backfield quite a bit to stop Bush or whoever runs the ball for you.

The second CB is a toss-up right now. McCourty is a better tackler but got burnt a little bit in pre-season, while rookie Alterraun Verner is a playmaker but is a little overaggressive. Either one is an improvement over last year's starter Nick Harper, and I hope Verner does start.

I just saw they were 2nd in pre-season run defense, but... it is pre-season.

I believe their run defense was middle of the league last year and they did lose Bullock, Vanden Bosch, and Vickerson. I think that's a hit. We'll see though, you don't exactly know what you have until the season begins.


I think for the Raiders to win they'll have to be able to run the ball on the Titans because I don't believe they'll be able to pass very well. I think the Titans will be able to get pressure on Campbell with just their front four and I think Campbell's gonna have a tough time back their.

Bulluck will be missed, but KVB and Vickerson won't at all. KVB lost a step last year with us and was pretty much a non-factor all season. Our defensive line is much deeper this season, as Jacob Ford and William Hayes have Jason Babin (who was beating first string OT's on passing downs in pre-season) and Derrick Morgan added to the mix. Vickerson was just a big body who ate up space, but our second-round pick Sen'Darick Marks from last season finally showed something through the pre-season and looks like a much better player than when he was a rookie. He'll replace Vickerson just nicely, and don't forget that Jason Jones is healthy again. He's a legit Pro Bowler if he stays healthy.

I agree with this 100%. If you guys can establish the running game, then it'll be tough for us. Our defensive line will rotate and rotate, continuing to get pressure on Campbell. You'll have to be able to mix it up in order to beat us.

Sunday can't get here fast enough.

Coming from a true Raider fan:
I see the Raider D getting dawged by CJ. We will see if McCalin will produce. He looked good in Pre-season. But its Pre-season. But at the same time, Jason Campbell controlling his Offense, and scoring.

this is another big chance for mcfadden though. he can prove that he improved from last season. there is no question for me that bush was better last season

talent has never been the question, its consistency and durability he needs to show. Bush is the long term answer IMO. Bush has his own durability issues though.

I think in a few years Jerrah should recreate that Arkansas backfield of Felix, Dmac, and Peyton Hillis so he can be a hogs homer while running the cowboys.

Not to diss my own team but TN is on young and rebuilding mode on defense, even if he looks amazing dont count your chickens before they hatch.

Truthfully, not expecting the Raiders to win.

Bush out/banged up, and Campbell's first game with Murphy and DHB at WR = below average offense.

I expect Zach Miller to have a good day. But I doubt the Raiders get in the endzone more than twice.

On the other hand, Chris Johnson and Vince Young return the exact same offense from last season. I think the Raiders D has improved, but it doesn't matter. They won't be able to put up enough points to win this one.
