It was dirty because welker had no chance really at catching the ball. Now if welker had caught the ball and recieved a hit like that it would of been clean becasue he did not lead wiht the head.

It was unnecessary to jump up and hit him. That right there mostly got him the penalty. You can easily interupt welker from even having a chance at catching it off the tip(which he would would never of caught) by just bumping him. I do that when I play safety for my team all the time, just give him a bump. The fact that someone said Hines Ward put him up to it will make it seem even dirtier than it was.

Clean hit, that's a part of the game. And holy shit that hurts me watching it.

I am stating why it is perceived as a dirty hit. That is the kind of hit that will draw a flag but shouldnt draw a suspension. It wasnt the dirtiest hit I have seen but it wasnt the "cleanest" hit I have seen, if that is even possible in the NFL. Sorry if you guys misinterpretated what I meant.

Remember the refs only a second or two to determine if a hit is clean. They cant be looking at replays to get a second look at it.

Quit generalizing dumb Pats 'fans' with actual ones. Fans who just start calling other people cry baby bitches are the ones who ruin fan base reputation.

And I'm not so sure Clark could've done much less, plus as a DB there are lots of times where you are going full speed, and when the receiver is in between you and the QB, it'll block your view of the pass for a split second, and it makes it really hard to focus on that, especially when you're thinking "I'm about to knock him silly and knock the ball loose." I doubt he even saw the pass get tipped.
