Week 3 thoughts....

* Cowboys finally get some sacks , a turnover , and thus a victory. A blitzing defense who cant get to the QB has a way of making everyone involved look bad. JG is still clueless. On 4 different goalline plays I yelled out exactly where they were going...if some run of the mill Putz like myself knows it the defense is sure to.
The fade to Roy was ok..they got what they wanted...but running the same play with Bennett was Switzer like. Choices TD run was execution. The other team was screaming out the play before it was run. Cowboys WRs are invisible and JGs terrible pass plays are key.


* Panthers have a top 3 WR , an elite Dlineman , and a top flight RB and a good coaching staff. They cant be this bad can they ?


* People joke about the Lions and the Bengals...Why not the Browns ? Such a storied team with loyal fans deserves better. Has any Browns team since Shotty scared anyone ?


* Rex Ryan and Bart Scotts act will only work while theyre winning. They need to pace themselves. They have a big game ahead then 3 very winnable ones. There Nov-Dec schedule is tough no need burn yourself out.

*There hasnt been as many big special teams plays this year. Weird...until find out there was a rule change disallowing "wedges" on returns. That makes a huge difference not having those big guys to run behind.

* I may have mentioned this before...but I think the NFL should consider making the behind the QB as the default view for games.((i.e the madden style cam))
HDTV/Widescreens are perfect for it , it allows us to have a much better idea of what happens in the secondary.

* Once again I laugh at those who thought Titans would be ok and not miss Haynseworth.

*Lastly anyone have any idea or info what those new style helmets guys have been wearing ? Not the Peyton Ridell Revolution ones...but the ones that Justin Tuck and alot of Giants players wear. They look lighter but I see them coming off guys head more than air helmets.

*Jamarcus Russell is still the worst starting QB in the NFL.

*Felix Jones, is out for two weeks, the Cowboys have terrible WRs, their pass rush is terrible. The Broncos won't have any trouble beating them.

- Completely agree with you on the camera angle, either that or stop zooming in on just the OLine and QB once the ball is snapped so we can see the WR's run their routes and the coverages.

- Only a matter of time before the entire team gives up in Oakland. Team already looks like they've given up on the season and I can't really blame them as they know they aren't going anywhere with Dumbarcus Russell at QB. I just hope we take a QB, any QB, with our top 10 pick next year because we won't have a pick in 2011.

- Really excited about the Saints/Jets matchup this week. High powered offense vs. an aggressive defense, this game is what football is all about.

- Brady looks rusty as all hell but you can tell that it is only a matter of time before those overthrows become touchdowns.

- That said, I'm wondering how much the loss of Josh McDaniels is hurting the Patriots. I saw them line up in more heavy sets last week then they did in all of 2007. I know it's mostly on Brady right now but you gotta wonder a little bit because guys aren't on the same page right now.

- Peyton Manning is the best QB in the NFL, period.

- Kurt Warner is falling apart and so are the Cardinals.

- Hey Houtz, if Chad Henne is the next Dan Marino and Pat White was the steal of the draft then please tell me why the fuck they went out and signed Tyler Thigpen?

- Bengals should be 3-0 and Cedric Benson is finally starting to look like a good running back.

- Brady and the Pats will be fine, especially once they realize that Taylor still has a lot left...once he gets back into the rhythm, watch out.

- Thomas Jones running style irks me. He needs a HUGE hole to run through in order to get good yardage and is terrible. Shonn Greene hasn't gotten an ounce of work and it maybe due to his blitz pickups. Soon we may see a change there.

- Meanwhile the Jets defense is giving opposing QB's fits. Collins was 15/37...15/37!!!! At first they didn't blitz as much but once they did, Collins showed he wasn't ready for that and his WR's really blow.

- The Cowboys need to realize their strength. Garrett still calls a poor game but the Boys have the best stable of backs in the league. Boy is Choice a good RB too I really like him and Jones, they surely found a way to maximize him and get him into space. Once they stick more to that run game, they can hit teams with PA pass to their two good TE's.

- The Bengals looked impressive. or maybe it's the Steelers inept offense at times. Either way the Bengals have some nice targets. They seem 4 deep at WR with Ocho, Henry, Coles and Caldwell. Benson is playing well and I love Leonard.

-Brett Favre's miracle TD pass will haunt me for this entire season...I guarantee they will show it with every Vikings game, and every 49ers game.

-The 49ers blocked another field goal, and returned it for a touchdown...we did that in back-to-back games last year too, so that makes three in two years. Fuck, we're really good at that!

-With Frank Gore down, rookie Glen Coffee is looking like a great draft day decision. I'm hoping he can put on a show these next two games. If he can, we'll probably see him sharing the load with Gore a lot more, and that's better for the entire team. Keep them both fresh.

-I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the 49ers dismantling the Rams this Sunday. They're gonna come in pissed off from last week, and just embarass this ridiculous excuse for a football team.

They're getting smarter about this NBC broadcasts all their Sunday Night games online now. The online feed is 30secs-1min behind the television feed but you get to pick your camera angle. You can watch the entire game from the endzone cam if you want. I think Direct TV has an online package where you can watch any game, hopefully better and cheaper ones start to come out.

-I just remembered that San Francisco has Carolina's first round pick next year...and they're 0-3. This instantly improves my mood for the rest of the week. If we trade Crabtree's rights, we could be looking at three first round picks next year...that would be sick.

What worries me is how many of there run plays are draw plays. When teams start realizing those WRs arent a threat those plays will get stifled in a hurry. Theyre scheming there way and spreading defenses out but eventually the WR have to make consistent plays to keep teams honest.

Agree they need more PA. Romo used to be good at it with Parcells. Under JG he cant sell a run nearly as well.

If all 3 are healthy Choice should be starting , Barber taking the mid 3rd Q and 4th and Felix Jones getting 10 touches a game. Barber was more effective with Julius Jones starting. Choice and Felix should be starting and taking the early carries.

I've been wanting to ask you. Where the fuck did you come up with this "Pat White was the steal of the draft" bullshit. I never once said anything like that.

I watch NFC Online a fair amount when theres an elite cb or wr. They give a great shot of those battles. Newman/Smith qualifies but too vested in the outcome to ignore the TV.

But yes I think the more the experiment the more it may happen. Im sure theyre keeping tabs of users and which views they select. Itll take new camera placements , and some production changes for behind the QB view. Its the traditionalists and the fact so many homes still have rabbit ears may hold it back.

- the pats will be fine, but the bills and phins will not.

- the only way oakland will ever be good again is if al davis dies. tom cable is going to jail soon, the good news for him is that is where the majority of raiders fans reside.

- mcnabb is done in philly, kolb just put up back to back 300 plus yard games... too bad chicago already has cutler. a trip way out west to the 9ers maybe?

McNabb done? Kolb threw for 300 in a game because they were getting smoked and had no choice but to throw vs. an average D. Then threw for 300 vs. maybe the worst team in the NFL. He still has a long way to go before becoming a full time starter. He still has happy feet and makes some terrible decisions. I'd say he's average at best right now but can fill in for a game or 2 if McNabb gets hurt.

The Eagles would be stupid to get rid of McNabb, who still has some years left in him, IMO.

Broncos have beaten Cincy/Cleveland those teams are common opponents for the AFC West. So if San Diego / Oakland / Kansas City loses a game to one of them, those wins look good for Denver.

Broncos got the perfect opportunity to shut everyone up this week though.

Seems that JG had a mini mutiny. Alot of players were lobbying for a different gameplan and the run heavy approach was the result of players lobbying for it.
Obviously Im not in the locker room but he did oblige this week. When TO was the one that lead the lobbying he refused.

TO has no tact , and JG is an idiot. Thats what Im getting from it.
