the nba is a poor example, those guys travel all day and no star gets called for fouls.

that wasnt PI, yes there was contact, but the one called onthe guy covering 85 was blatant, the guy grabbed his arm. the play you have posted the ref is not behind the guy, so they didnt just 'hold' the flag. yes champs arm is around the guy and it could be called, but the ref did not see it. it was a week later in the ravens btw.

Not buying the "QB's of yesteryear had it so much harder" argument. Find me players on defense in the 1970's and 1980's who could run 4.3's and bench just as much as offensive lineman and I'll agree that older QB's had it tougher.

It was definitely more difficult to pass before they changed the rules in 1978.

He led with his helmet.. His helmet made contact long before his arms did. It was pretty obvious in the slow mo replays from the back on Sunday.

Not only was it not blatant helmet to helmet but even under the ticky tack rules that would be a horse shit call.

That whole situation was BS and a hallmark of shitty officiating.

So you are going to tell me that in no way Meriweather taunted the wideout when he stood over him and pointed? That is the very definition of showing someone up. Maybe if Meriweather didn't commit so many penalties on one play the refs wouldn't have had to decide which 15 yarder to call.

Standing over a player, staring right at them and then pumping your fist in their face; which is what happened, is a taunt.

He wasn't "standing over" him, he wasn't even facing him when he did it.

That call was awful. Had it been a playoff game, it would've been an epic failure of a call that basically handed the game to the Broncos.

Someone go to 2:31 of that video and tell me that Meriweather "wasn't even facing" Royal. And that wasn't a fist pump it was a point. He showed up the other player, the very definition of taunting. Go back to cheesing video game football Kornstar.

My bad, still doesn't change the fact that it was a horrible call. All Meriweather did was get up and did a fist pump, Royal happened to be in front of him but the fact they called that was a joke. Defending that is also making you look like one.

Since you were trying to make it seem like Eddie Royal was nowhere around when this "fist pump" took place. Meriweather had to turn his body to face Royal. He could have went and chest bumped his teammate who had actually made the deflection allowing that hit to even be illegal, but instead decided to fully turn his body and show up Eddie Royal. Nice call on that one Brandon.

Watched the game "live", sorry I didn't remember exactly where Meriweather stood as he got up, idiot.

Either way it wasn't a taunt. He showed emotion over a play, god forbid. Horrible call that cost the Pats the game.
