Why why why after giving up the TD to make it 24-13 did we come out and pass on 1st and 2nd down. Momentum was already swinging in GB's favour and to give them two chances to get a pick made it even worse. Should've pounded the rock, run game wasn't great but should've at least tried to slow the game, kill some clock and get a manageable 3rd down instead of that 3 and out crap.

Worryingly, another example of emotional collapse in the 2nd half as yet again the Vikes got caught on the wrong foot and lost the plot for a bit. We can't keep switching off like this.

Good game. At least the second half was very exciting. Tomorrow is going to suck for me.

Vikings are just clearly the better team this year.

McCarthy and Thompson should be on the hot seat after this one if they weren't already. No, not at all because of the Favre hoopla. Thompson should be on it for this pathetic excuse of a OLine he has built over the past 5 years. It's been an issue every single year and he has failed to do anything to fix it every single year. He has been absolutely amazing at building up the skill positions but he ultimately fails for ignoring the most important part of the team year in and year out.

McCarthy, I just can't take it any more. I know he is capable of calling a great game. We've all seen it. It just doesn't happen frequently enough. His play calling this year has been abysmal for the most part.

For one, his neglect of running the football is devastating. 10 attempts for Grant. 10. Thats unacceptable. You have to be more balanced than that. You have to make teams respect the run. His numbers don't look great, but Grant didn't look THAT bad tonight. We don't have a good enough line to sit there and pass continually when teams know its coming. MacCarthy takes the blame for this pretty much every week in his press conference but never seems to learn from it or fix it.

The big second knock on McCarthy is the penalties and overall lack of discipline on this team. The amount of penalties is outrageous. Sure at some point the players need to take some responsibility but so does the coaching staff. Again, McCarthy claims they'll get this cleaned up every week in his press conference and every week we see the same thing.

Aaron Rodgers is one tough SOB. He does hold the ball too long often but man he keeps taking a licking and getting back up and performing. He's gonna be a good one. Most already knew that though.

Anyway, kudos to the Vikings. Great game. Kudos to Favre. He got the revenge he so badly wanted. He played great in both games.

As for the Packers, we get TB next week which should help heal the wounds. By no means are we out of this thing yet but after TB we enter a hellacious second half of the season (sans the Lions and Seahawks). I definitely am not feeling good about the final 2 months unless things seriously change for the Packers. And as I said earlier in the season, if this team fails to make the playoffs, I will be first in line calling for both McCarthy and Thompson's heads.

The Packers entire OL is suspect. Clifton has had a stellar career but he is too old and signing Tauscher was a desperation move. The defensive players on the roster do not have the skill set for the 3-4 scheme.

Sending Brett Favre packing might be TT's most debated move as GM but the sad state of the roster on the offensive and defensive lines and his stubbornness to not spend any of the Packers vast salary cap reserves to address those areas is probably going to be what does him in after the team falls short again this year.

Pretty much 100% agree. TT will always be remembered for the Favre debacle. That said, that should have no bearing on him getting fired. In fact, that move lead to us finding our future at QB.

Ted Thompson's failure to understand the importance of good line play on either side of the ball is ultimately what should get him fired. How you ignore the most important part of the team is beyond me.

If anyone in history ever needs an example of the importance of line play, they should pull up tape of this years Packers. Even the most talented offense can be stifled by bad line play.

He had a team to execute for, he had to try and win a game. the redemption/ victory against old team type of thoughts lasted 5 lousy seconds. its like having a job for a long time that you liked or got use to. You may miss it a little but life moves on. its been 2 years already. No, it wasnt that big a deal. He wanted to go to Minn because they run his offense and have a good post season chance. He did not do this to just stick it to the Packers. Fans booing are unimportant to professional athletes. It amuses and motivates them ,but doesnt hurt them. favres been through worse than that in his personal life. He works for the Vikings now.

he is not a vindictive guy. just someone who wants to play football still. His old teamates still love him and he loves them. You saw the interaction with his old wide receiver buddy on the sidelines.
i did think for a bit- gee, i hope he doesnt have a flashback and throw to a green jersey. I bet you that in his head/thoughts, he repeated to himself before game " white jersey, white jersey, white, purple, white,purple "
