What career would you rather have?

Question was posed on the Dan Patrick Show this morning.. and I thought it was very interesting..

If you were a pro basketball player - what career would you rather have? Derek Fisher's (soon to be 4 NBA titles as a starter/role player) or Karl Malone (more money, individual accolades and fame but no championships).

The answer would be like this.

would you want to be known as an average player on a great team who played with 2 of the greatest basketball players of all time.

or

would you want to be remembered as one of the best to ever play your position and know your future entrance in the HOF isn't banked on the fact that 2 other guys tore up the league by themselves.

I'd go with Malone, but I went with Barry Sanders based on the fact he did it all by himself.

and John Stockton is my second favorite basketball player of all time, right behind Rafer Alston.

While Malone is one of the top players of all time. I'd still take Derek Fisher's career. Clutch performance last night alone would be the reason I would want that career. But come on? The chance to play with Kobe, in L.A.? I couldn't pass that up. I asked my wife that the other night. "I wonder what it would be like to play basketball, and your teammate was Kobe Bryant?"

But truthfully.. id almost rather just be known for some clutch shots and a bunch of championships.

Then again.. Bob Kuzzy would think im the worst starting PG in the NBA. That'd be a bad look.
