What level should the KO tourney be played on?

If you've played the demo, which mode would you want to play the KO tourney on?

All Pro seems more realistic vs. THE CPU, but yesterday I was user catching at will with Boldin and Fitz vs. Pitt, so it may become too easy.

All Madden is tough vs the cpu, but it always has been and it's no surprise they get ridiculous BS plays that happen in their favor.

We'll go with the majority vote.

I just feel like All-Madden is a stepping stone in a lot of situations. Just because its "All-Madden" elite players beleive they should play on it. In reality... the AI from All-Madden helps substancially against the run, leaving a user able to control the FS or SS at will not having to worry too bad about it. I just think that it takes more skill to play on All-Pro IMO. You get less cpu help, so if your truly a good player you dont need the amount of cpu help that All-Madden gives you.

I understand where you're coming from but from my experience through the years, All Madden is tough at first, but eventually becomes the standard difficulty. The guys here are too good to just stick with All Pro all year. There is no challenge once guys figure out the in's and out's of the game.

Eventually, we're going to see YPC by RBs in the double digits and QBs going 24-28 for 350 yards almost every game.

I forget who said it, but it always stuck with me. All Madden is there to keep the scores in check between the hardcore players. It might be cheap at times, but it'll keep the scores from looking like an Arena Football game.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't All Madden 'jack' things up? So like if I'm running the ball outside and I'm playing someone who's user controlling the OLB. The CPU controlled DE rated 80 OVR is going to play beyond that skill is he not?

I agree. We won't know for sure until we play each other. I think the KO tourney should be all pro and then if we feel it's too easy, then we can bump it up for future tournaments.

As for All Madden making players play beyond what they're rated, I'm not sure either. It wouldn't shock me, though.

Good question. Can we change the speed online? I know the default is normal, which is slightly faster than the demo. If we can change it, I'd vote for putting it at the same speed as the demo, if that's fine with everyone else.

no way, the demo was waaaaayyyy to fucking slow. normal or higher is my vote. i want passes with some zip on em, not this lob ball junk.

I vote to have the speed normal if u can change it. i would hate to play the game at different speeds whether im playing a tourney' league or random game.

as far as AP or AM. i say all madden although we can decide when the game comes out. i dont really buy the good players should play on AP because sometimes the defense is just dumbed down and there isnt much u can do user wise and end up just marching down the field every series. the game usually comes down to who has the ball last.

at least on all madden, u have to be more careful of a juiced up AI as well as a good player who may have good user skills. jmo

Since it comes out 2-3 weeks before the final game you can basically expect it to not have 2-3 weeks of fine-tuning and polish.

Some will get the game earlier than others....me, the afternoon of the 14th [UPS}. I think we would be able to do a fair amount of checking before the tourny begins on the 15th, right? If you want to do the tourny on AP, that's fine, but I think you will see AM be somewhat diff on normal speed in the final build. Just an opinion.

Not sure, but I thought I saw somewhere that he said the default speed setting online is normal. See if I can find something on that.

Undecided (I'll vote later) but if I had to decide right now...All Madden. Toss plays and HB catches in the flat coupled with no defense for slants make for a lot of BS.

I agree with this... Madden 09 was perfect on All-Pro. Most of the guys that continued and stuck with Madden 09 played on All-Pro and we had some really good games. I think that All-Pro is perfect on the Demo as well and you don't get the Super Cpu AI BS. Whatever is chosen is fine with me though.

Last year after most of you guys quit playing 09 online i started playing random lobby ranked games, they were on All Pro and it was pretty enjoyable for the most part.

In his hands-on post at Vetz Balling, Rhude said the retail AM is still fairly hard but I think that is always typical when EA makes a bunch of changes in gameplay. Like Mobb said, maybe AP would be the right way to go right now for the tourny and then take another vote later.

Hopefully Rhude will be touching on more gameplay the rest of the week.

You losing a step? The default game speed in the demo is far to slow. It should be taken up to whatever it was on 09.

As for this ridiculous thread why do we have the same stupid discussion every year? We have never in any Madden played on AP difficulty throughout the year and it will not be any different this year despite what people feel about AM difficulty RIGHT NOW. People will get used to the "feel" of the game and we will be playing on AM by NFL kickoff if not sooner.

AM is the only way to go. Remember last year where people was praising AP then a few weeks later Izzy is getting 70 put in him on AM by everyone. Speaking of which someone needs to get that fool on board.
