Who's going to sign Bynum in the offseason this year?

Considering what they gave up to get him Philly sort of has to resign him. I wouldn't expect anything beyond a 1-2 year deal. If Houston loses out on Howard I could see them trying to get him as well.

but hes a true center who is 7'0, you sort of have to take a chance on him if your sub-lottery or missing that final piece

If the Sixers sign him, I'm done with the NBA. Refusing to build around Iverson, and some of the worst Front Office decisions since 1990 and this would be the absolute last straw.

If Bynum wants to resurrect his career, in terms of how he is perceived and proving he is capable, he will take a 1 year deal and earn that long term contract in '14. I think a team like Phoenix or Atlanta will panic and offer Bynum a multi-year deal which will cause Philadelphia to use their trump card and offer the full 5 year deal. I think it will be in the Javale McGee neighborhood in terms of money. As long as guys like Okafor, Nene, McGee, Gortat, and Perkins can get paid , there will be a market for an injured Andrew Bynum.

It wouldn't be a popular decision here. I'd be mildly surprised if he came back, only because I question whether he wanted to be here in the first place.

That being said, I still don't fault them for making the move. They knew there was a ceiling with a team centered around Iguodala. Instead of sitting back and settling for a team that would be no better than a five or six seed, they swung for the fences and traded for a player that gives you a better chance to win.

Even with the worst case scenario taking place, we have a ton of money going off the books and a lottery pick.

IMO the team would be foolish to just let him walk. I wouldn't give him anything beyond a 1 or maybe 2 year deal at maybe $6-8 million per year though. If a team is willing to give him a multi year deal beyond 2 years at $10+ million per year than so be it, but I wouldn't just let him walk. When healthy he is the second best center in the league and when you team him with an all-star in Holiday and other emerging young players you actually have something. Granted, I don't think he'll ever be able to play a full season, but as VanillaThunder3 mentioned, if he proves himself on a one year deal than you've done your homework.

Even with this debacle I still really, really like this 76ers roster with Holiday, Bynum, T. Young and Turner. I really don't know what happened this year, because I thought even with Bynum being out this team should have won 45 games at least.

The Sixers have already proven the are willing to surround him with the type of players that would compliment his game, so I think it would be a smart move for him to take less money next year in a good situation to set himself up with a max deal.

I just don't see him taking a deal like that to play in Philly...
