Why doesnt Strikeforce promote their fights?

They could do just as many big shows as the UFC if they'd make their guys fight and stop with this open contracts BS. The biggest problem is their HW division, we see these guys once a year and that's it. Haven't seen Rogers since he lost to Fedor, which was such a prime opportunity to continue riding the exposure he has gotten and the hype he had for giving Fedor such a good fight. Oveereem fights once and goes back to Japan. AA?? Gegard, Soko, Lawler, Cung, etc etc

None of those guys are fighting often enough, at least not often enough with SF. The stable of fighters is there and with their willingness to co-promote they can really put on some great fights. So no excuses, and time for the open contracts to end. You're with SF, you fight with SF. Doesn't make sense having these guys fight all over the world and only with your org once a year, how does that help you

They would just sign with the UFC or not sign at all, they have to offer open contracts

Without these contracts they would not have Overeem, Mousasi, Lashley, Manhoef, Jacare, JZ, Fedor, etc...

They have to offer something different and thats what they do

also, the contracts are mostly not 'open', they work with the fighter, if Tarec wants to take a fight with Shark Fights and they dont have a fight for him, they let him, if Cormier wants to fight KOTC and they dont have a fight for him, they let him, SF has to approve it

Biggest one would be Overeem, but he gives SF first right, he gave them more than enough time, if Werdum wasnt hurt he would have fought him, Fedor didnt want the fight so he went to K-1, Rogers is fighting this month or next month on a small show

Do you understand they have a budget? they don't have a PPV model that brings in a boat load of cash? They do what they can, to pull off what they have is pretty good in a short time since going national, and they still make money

Let me ask you, how many times have you seen on other boards about Aoki or Manhoef fighting BJ Penn or Silva? Never happened, Strikeforce made it happen against guys like Gil and Lawler, Zaromskis vs Diaz also, Champs vs Champs from around the MMA world

MMA fans are to blinded by the Zuffa light, they can't even appreciate good fight because the of the logo, the reason MMA fans don't want to like SF is because Fedor didnt sign with them, thats it, crazy

The fact is if they didnt run the way they did they probably wouldnt have Overeem, Fedor, Mousasi, Manhoef, Lashley, Zaromskis, Sergei, Barnett, a game featured on EA, etc...

Go back and look at the UFC when Zuffa purchased them and look at the fights they put on, SF has only been running at this level for a year and a half

Yeah, SF is between a rock and a hard place. If Coker had his way, he would have exclusive contracts. But he has to let these guys fight elsewhere if they want, because they have him by the balls. If guys like Overeem or Mousasi were told they needed to be exclusive, they would walk.

c'mon man you're counting these Challengers cards. Gegard has fought once for SF in 2010, same with Rogers, same with Fedor. The list could go on and on. Their star fighters just aren't being developed enough, they're not out there to continue to enhance their fanbase because SF isn't giving them enough fights. If you don't see that as a problem then you're just being biased. Hell I'm not even comparing them against the UFC, Bellator has been more consistent with their shows than SF has. So why is it that we want to see this org limp along? If you're really a fan of SF then you should want them to get their act together like I do, because what they're doing now isn't cutting it.

These guys want the open contracts because they know SF isn't putting on enough shows and they want to fight and be paid as often as possible. This was talked about before when SF was doing even less shows than they are now. If you pay these guys and are giving them big fights then they have no reason to go anywhere else. Aside from the rarities like Reem who still want to do K1, that's a different story.

I don't know the financial info but I doubt it would be cost effective for Strikeforce to do monthly Showtime shows. First off, they don't even have a roster big enough to fulfill such demands.

They have the roster to do more than what they're doing. EliteXC pulled off monthly shows so I don't see why SF couldn't. If Sho doesn't work then they need to find a new business model.

Of course I want more shows, I have said that many times, but they need these contracts to draw in talent, without them they have half the fighters

They did 15 shows, next year should be more, EliteXC did 14 or 15 in a year, so they didnt do more than SF has

I big thing would be to show the undercard fights and you will be able to put more fighters on the main cards and not shaft them

Nah man that's my whole point. If they were doing shows these top fighters wouldn't need to go elsewhere to fight. They do it because it's the only way SF can fulfill their obligations of allowing them to fight x number of times.
