Why is your team(s) your team?

Well....I was born in RI...so naturally Patriots....LOVED the Willie Clay Chris Slade years, Jimmy Hitchcock etc...

but I also felt when I was younger I should like an NFC team, so if both teams ever made the super bowl it would be the happiest day of my life....so I was routing for the Eagles, loved Ricky Waters....

I lived in Miami for a while, the Dolphins kind of grew on me but never anything serious.....

Then Carolina emerged as a team....and I just decided right then and there, my step-bro lived in SC and I was pumped by the fan suport down there and always wanted to move back there....

I also started to HATE the Patriots, for the mere fact i met Bledsoe and he was a dick, and they became too good....So naturally my two other teams (Panthers first, Eagles second) played the Pats two straight years and both lost....

Im a Carolina fan, and just bought a trailer in Beaufurt South Carolina that im fixing up and planning on selling, good investment for a 21 yr old....but I do have a soft spot for the Eagles and root for them nonstop...but thats pretty much where I'm at...and I do root for my favorite players as long as it doesnt fuck with Carolina's record, which makes the Texans high on my list, cuz of Andre Johnson and my love for Miami...so basically im a complete mindfuck

I just like the Chargers because they were the only team that they showed on TV when I got into sports.

When I was about 4, I happened to watch a game between the Colts and the Cheifs I believe. I liked red and Blue, but I liked Blue a lot more. So I started rooting for the 'blue team.' The next thing you know, by the time I'm eight I'm watching all of the blue teams' games. As bad as the Colts where in the 90's, I couldn't stop watching them. I got asked a lot as a child why I would pick such a bad team when I live in LA. I could go with San Fran if I wanted to. But I stuck by the Colts. The rest is history.

lol same here when I was little. I didn't even watch the games I'd just watch that NFL show on HBO and then when they showed the team logos right before the clips from the game I'd just pick which colors I liked and root for that team in the 2 minute re-cap of the game.

I think when I was in the 5th or 6th grade the Bucs played some other red team(I believed the 49ers) and those 2 were my favorite teams because of their colors. Everyone thought I was bandwagoning when they both made it to teh superbowl.

dad's a diehard eagles fan, and i live about a half hour outside of philadelphia. i didn't start really getting into the games until about 3rd grade when we started reaching NFC championships galore, that grabbed my attention. By about 5th grade i had become completely die hard. Eagles are my team.

Always had a thing for the Panthers too, love their explosiveness. Nothing serious though, Eagles are my number one.

Years from now there will be threads like this on VSN and the kids will say, " I liked the Dolphins because they ran the Wildcat. Pat White is the best quarterback in franchise history." Dolphins officially became the most exciting team to use in Madden 10. They're also going to be a team everyone loves watching.

I was born and raised in Ohio. The First team I rooted for was the Ohio State Buckeyes, my grandpa used to watch all the football and basketball games. And tell me about the glory days, the championships, the players, everything.

When I got older around the 90's I started watching the NFL I had to choose between the Bengals, or the Browns. I chose the Browns and then shortly after they were sold to Baltimore. I switched teams to the Cowboys, it was "America's Team" back then, and everyone rooted for them so you can say I jumped on the bandwagon. When the Browns came back I started to follow them again, and have been ever since, through all the bad times I believe there will be a year the Browns lift the Trophy and I can say I've been a fan through the thick and thin.

Unfortunately I'm living in San Antonio, Texas. I'll have to find a way to watch the Browns but I might start following the Cowboys again, or maybe buy into this Houston team. Cleveland will always have my heart though.

Growing up (8 - 9 yrs old) I looked up to my brother's friend who was a big Buffalo Bills fan and also a Duke Blue Devils fan. I idolized Jim Kelly and even went to his Football Camp three years in a row back in the mid 90's. So they both became my team ever since

I am a Bengals fan, since my early days, but they've taken a back seat to the Panthers since I moved here. I started to like the Panthers when they drafted Julius Peppers, and I told my dad that they would win the Super Bowl the next year (I was 10 years old and very impressionable). Ironically enough they made it to the Super Bowl which cemented them as my #2 team, and then in late 2004 I found out my dad had gotten a job in Charlotte, and we were moving to North Carolina and they became my team.

The first football game I ever saw was Detroit versus Dallas when I was 6 or 7. I fell in love with Deion Sanders flashy style and everyone on the Cowboys. Been a fan ever since, 13 or 14 years now. Die hard fan.

I'm from New York so people ask sometimes why I don't like the Giants or Jets, but ever since I can remember I liked the Cowboys and could never root for the Giants or Jets. I also didn't like how they were supposed to be from New York but played in Jersey.

The Bears: Just raised a Bears fan by my dad. Grew up loving the team. The Bears game was on in the hospital room the day I was born. My mom was getting pissed at my dad who kept turning it on. They were playing the Seahawks and lost. Grew up watching them every Sunday and loving them.

Notre Dame: I'm Irish Catholic from the midwest. My grandpa graduated from there and walked onto the basketball team there back in the late 1940's. I didn't have the grades to get in but I grew up loving the team and dreaming of going there someday. Was never able to make it in.

Anyhoo, grew up in NY but like most kids in the era (mid 70s), the only teams that mattered to me were the Cowboys & Steelers. I grew out of that & wanted to support one of my local teams and had to choose between the Jets & Giants. Tough choice back then cuz the Jets had the only SB win between them at the time. But the Giants had just drafted this pretty good linebacker, Lawrence Taylor. Been with the Giants ever since.

I've been living in NC since the early 90s, so I was here when the Panthers came on the scene. They're the only other team I root for, unless they're playing the Giants, of course.

was born and grew up in jersey about a half hour from giant stadium so naturally im a giants fan since my dad is as well. my second favorite team is the titans though for a much stranger reason. when i was younger i was at a family party to watch some of the playoff games. back when the titans were one of the top teams from 1999-2003, they were in one of those games. an older kid at the party said he was rooting for the titans so tyring to impress him i said i was too. then i actually started to pay attention to the titans and fell in love with steve mcnair. he is my favorite NFL player that i lived to see play. even when he went to the ravens i was a huge fan of his, but even after he left the titans were still my number 2 team.

wasnt old enough to see the rams play in L.A. however my dad loved them still and i grew up watching and rooting for the rams also when i started to (watch) football it was the time when a young guy named marshall faulk and a grocery bagger named kurt warner paired up and became the greatest show on turf

however once L.A. gets another team i will start to follow them until then the rams all the way
