Will Jared Allen & DeMarcus Ware Get Into the Hall of Fame?

Far and away the most consistent pass rushers over the last decade. For the record, Dwight Freeney is 32 years of age is and is 21st on this list.

I think both of these guys have 3-4 good years left, right?

John Abraham should also be discussed. The 34 year old is 13th all time with 124 sacks. Does he get in?

It's crazy to me how Kevin Greene hasn't gotten in yet. I guess that has to be brought up before anything else.

Wow I'm kinda shocked at a couple of those names. I had no idea Rice and O'Neil's career numbers are so high.

I say yes to Ware and Allen both, although I think Ware will get in much sooner.

That's really why I posted it. When I heard that Allen and Ware were both in the top 20, I had to look up the list.

It's amazing to see Bruce Smith with 200 sacks. Was he really that good? I didn't start watching football until about 1992.

At age 37 and 39, Smith put up seasons of 10 and 9 sacks. He was most certainly that good, and I would love to have been older than 12 and remember watching him live more than I do.

HOF isnt all about sacks.....because if it was greene would be in. i honestly dont know what they look at when it comes to these guys.

Robert Mathis is 32 and he's tied his career high at 11.5 in 7 games this year. If Mathis can have 11 sacks at 32 I see no reason Allen or Ware can't have some 15 sacks seasons in the next few years. Which would sky rocket them into top 10 all time easily.

Ware may be hitting a wall. If he doesn't adjust better to the 4-3 his stats will flatline.
He'd be in the HOF before Allen. Hes been considered the best pure pass rusher of this gen , and always in the discussion for best defensive player , plus Allens not exactly a spotlight player having been in KC and Minnesota his career.

Sacks arent everything. I think both Allen and Ware are more along the lines of Jason Taylor and Simeon Rice than they are LT or DT. Both benefit greatly in a nothing but pass league where they get an extra 5-10 tries at a sack per game. Ive watched every snap of Wares career and out side of one huge performance vs New Orleans and one really good one against Detroit hes the Tony Romo of defense. He disappeared in two huge playoff games and made alot of garbage time plays in a 4th. His performance with season on the line is mediocre. Compared to some of the beast performances Ive seen Reggie White and Bruce Smith have there's a significant gap. Charles Haley wore the same # for the same team , was a better all around player than Ware and was a big game performer with 5 SB rings still isn't in the HOF. So no way in heck im giving Ware the nod.

Lastly Bruce Smith was an absolute beast. Draft lore still says he was probably the only player in NFL history who could have been drafted out of High School and been a great NFL player.
