The game of basketball is about more than offense. Offensively, LeBron had a team that fit his needs. He needs to be surrounded by shooters and he's got that. On defense, the Cavaliers were one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.

Does Kobe have better teammates? Yes, but that doesn't mean LeBron is better just because Kobe has better teammates. You're gonna have to come up with a better argument than that because all that argument proves is that Kobe has better teammates. LeBron hasn't done anything in his career yet to warrant him being better than Kobe.

Actually I don't feel like arguing so he's safe for now.

Kobe and LeBron are close, it's almost 1a and 1b, but I feel like Kobe's done too much for too long to be considered anything less than the best basketball player on the planet, and he proved that again last season and in the playoffs.

Funny you pull up all those accomplishments as if I couldn't do the same thing for Kobe. However, like I said I don't really feel like arguing.

And just so it's known, I believe that when LeBron's career is over with he will be known as the best basketball player of all time.

Really I didnt come on here to start shit, I just thought I would like to hear what you guys have to say about this. Considering these are the two most talented basketball players of our generation, and it's always going to be a huge debate until Kobe decideds to retire.

The sad thing is, I agree with you. Lebron is a better player than Kobe on their own. The problem is though, that it is completely irrelevant. Being the best single player means nothing. Being the best single player won't even win you an MVP every year and definitely won't win a championship.

Scoring 16 in the first minutes of the second half of a meaningless game means nothing. Hitting two clutch buzzer beating threes in the same game for home court advantage in the playoffs is far better. I can pull up LeBron dominating first quarter against Orlando and game win as some sort of "proof" that LeBron is better, but his team still lost that game despite having a huge lead.
