WORLD SERIES: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Texas Rangers

Ron Washington was definitely out-managed tonight. Putting German to pinch-hit was baffling considering he never batted this post-season yet and they had Torrealba on the roster as a third catcher in PH situations like that. And pitching around Nick Punto of all people to get to Carpenter's spot was pretty strange too, but I guess they just wanted Carp out of the game then.
 
Texas stole this one. Nothing more I can say. Absolutely frustrating.

Glad Craig will be in the lineup on Saturday. Should see a lot more runs in the move to Arlington.

In Game 2 we have to give credit where credit is due. La Russa lost the game for his team. To take out your closer (Motte) in the 9th in a save situation is completely counter-intuitive. To take out Motte for Rhodes is almost reason for investigation that LaRussa took money from gamblers. Kinsler got a bloop hit off Motte that probably should have been caught by the outfield, stole second, then Andrus got another bloop hit and Pujols botched the cutoff so Andrus winds up on 2nd. Motte has been unhittable as of late, and to then take him out is yet another example of LaRussa "overmanaging".

Just imagine if the Brewers would have made it, the ratings would have been much lower. Game 1 ratings for this WS were up 5 percent compared to last year, not sure about games 2 and 3.

that 5% likely came from St. Louis, their ratings there maybe HUGE...they watch their baseball.

Yes because the other 15 NL teams would love to keep sending out their pitcher to hit three times a game. Even if NL teams don't have the extra 25-30 HR player sitting on their bench to use, they would still love to plug in that utility backup instead.
